Hello fellow Griz fans
I’m bothered by something and I’m going to start off with a Granny rant. It’s a gray right that I have.
When Players from our division make it in the pros, the fans that rooted for them in college look forward to hearing their school name during introductions. A few years ago Jared Allen who played for Idaho State was starting on a Monday night game. I’m sure it was crowded around the wood stove at the post office in Pocatello with everyone waiting to hear their school mentioned. He’s going to say it…here it is…
He says “the Culinary Institute.” What!
Same thing watching the super bowl. Not much to cheer about in Cheaney and Cooper Kupp lets them down saying “ewoo.” Now we know what he’s referring to but not everyone knows. I asked Timmy to search ewoo on the computer and he said it looks like it might be a Comanche war whoop.
I hope the Andersen lad from state will be proud of his school.
Last year’s brawl game was great fun. I noticed their running back I-Fancy when tackled would wait on the ground like Jim Brown for his lineman to come over and help him up. He was helped up a lot and they didn’t have to go very far to give him a hand. Last year’s brawl game is one of my favorite games I’ve seen in my long history of watching.
Timmy came over to watch the playoffs last year. Cats at home against someone and while walking into the living room with another Manhattan Timmy says, ‘look Granny the coeds are holding “touch me Tommy” signs in the stands.” What! Put my glasses on and missed it. He is known to pull my leg on occasion but it wouldn’t surprise me after they built him up so high.
I’m disappointed in big 1-AA TV games that are played in half full stadiums with a track around the field and the scoreboard that says “visitor”. Eastern, Sac State etc… When we play on national TV, it depends on where the game is played if I even tell my friends to watch…too embarrassing .
Last year I gave the location of where Timmy would be tailgating. He said a few people stopped by and he had fun meeting them and answering Granny questions.
One question I have is, who names their kid Taco?
Thank you for reading the ramblings of an old lady and for your kind words all these years. I’m still posting and Timmy will let you know when I’ve left for the big Dornblaser field in the sky.
Until then I’ll be toasting the lads with my Manhattans and wishing them all the breaks.
By the way, when you see the scoreboard light up in Bozeman under the word “visitors” it will be the University of Montana Grizzlies that just scored.
Thank you and Go Griz
