Griz games downtown Seattle

Dude, if you wanna start a new "tradition" at some bar that will put the games on for us, PM me and I'll meet you wherever we can get the game on the telly.
I live in Ravenna.

Found this old thread thought I would place it in here for archival purposes. http://www.egriz.com/grizboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41829&p=527525&hilit=downtown+seattle#p527525" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for all the input! What I gatherd from some research is that the downtown Sluggers used to do griz games but that stopped several years ago. But I did hear that it used to be very popular... so I am thinking that others are looking for a similar viewing situation as me. I am going to get in contact with some alums and attempt to get a viewing party for DT Seattle. If not at sluggers than some other venue. Anyone who is interested in revitalizing an old tradition in the heart of king county; let me know. GO GRIZ!

The downtown Sluggers only showed the GRIZ/cat game and a few select playoff games. They've never shown the games on a regular basis. They still host a GRIZ/cat party, simply because in the Seattle area multiple bars are needed to do that, and the Sluggers in Kirkland gets 200 people for that game and can't hold more.

I think having a Seattle location is great, but you may find that people who have been going to Kirkland for years won't want to change. Part of the fun is seeing the Griz fans that you've drank with for 12 years while rooting on the GRIZ.

It will be interesting to see if having the games on "regular" TV here will change all of that. I know I still plan to watch at Sluggers with 100 other Griz fans.

I stand corrected, Everett is right. That was a playoff game I was at a few years back in Seattle. I need to get the plaque scrapped from my synapses. I also had a great time at a cat-Griz game there too.

Years ago we used to go to the University Sports Bar for cat-Griz. I can't remember the owners name, he was from Cleveland. Nice guy and not a bad location. He looked at it as a great way to bring in a crowd. I’m sure there are other bar owners out there that if approached would be up for it.

There was at least one year there was a joint UM-MSU alum party at the Spot in Kent. The MSU alum have had their party there for 20 years. Kind of fun to go there, if you're into disappointment and shame.
