Griz Game Tonight

What game ? I refuse to watch games like these.

I will second that! These games attract about 10 spectators and have to lose droves of money just turning lights on, opening concessions , paying employees, refs and the team to come get and ass whooping. But it seems to be newsworthy as it is a headline for all the records that where broken. Kind of sickening when the coach is telling a player throughout game how many more assists he needs to break a record against a team that like that. I feel bad for Nate Duchene and whoever had the Big Sky record, this is a black eye for Grizzly historians and purity of the game

People bitching about nothing. Griz needed another game after a cancellation and had few options.

Plus it's Finals Week. Having a fun game should have been a good way to get thru that stress.

Christ, get a life Wyoming Griz. Let the kids have some fun and play an easy game during finals week and who cares about your thoughts on some old timer getting his records shattered. I struggle to even understand what you are saying with your posts because of all the grammatical errors.

This was not a game, better to go without, who's next the girl scouts ?
Oh I guess this kind of "game" really prepares us for conference.
I would be embarrassed to play.

Dude they contacted up to 20 different teams and this was the only one that could make it work. They tried to get better quality opponents in here, but it didn't work. At least we made up for the cancellation. That's all that matters. Get ready for Santa Clara on Sunday.

Valley Christian had a open date, about the same level.

Nothing would have been better.

Says the guy whose nourishment comes from pot brownies and Mountain Dew. Everyone knows you are bat shit crazy with most of your posts. You spend hours proofreading your posts and having your mother come downstairs and give final submit approval

I like how you make this hyperbolic, over the top judgment without apparently having any clue about exactly why were playing said team in the first place.

Anyone who can read knows his game was last second fill in for UNC Wilmington Covid cancellation. I don’t think you understand or comprehend but main point is we should not play against “said” teams of this caliber. No game is better than “said” team

Being a condescending prick doesn't make your point any more valid. Pretty strong opinion for something that has zero negative impact. Why are you so weirdly invested in arguing about such a minor topic?

If not playing any game at all was preferable, then why bother contacting 20+ teams to try to schedule something at the very last second in the first place.??? Just for fun so we can pad our stats??? Can't wait for another enlightening strongly worded opinion about something that doesn't matter.

Yes you nailed it, "just for fun so we can pad our stats" :thumb:

Came late to this bitch session ... and find it incomprehensible.

Don't know if you noticed ... but if the Griz hadn't scheduled these fill-in, cupcakes games, they would have gone 11 days without any significant outside competition (Air Force on Dec 8). Sure, they would have used all that time for practice and scrimmages ... and that would have been helpful. This way, they still get all that practice time, but they throw in some playing time against opponents where they don't already know every move and tendency. Sure, the talent isn't much, but you still have to think about it and adapt. And it's under the lights (I won't say with a crowd) and -- I assume -- an officiating crew beyond your coaches ... that is, a game environment.

Every team schedules a few inferior opponents every year and I don't see a problem with that...the only problem I see is if coaches were actually telling players how their stats were stacking up to an existing BSC record, that shouldn't happen...nor should a coach play a player against an obviously inferior opponent simply to try to set a record after the outcome of the game is decided....Records set this way should be voided......

I would not have wasted time on this thread if i hadn’t seen post game interviews with player/coach discussing how the record was broken. I don’t blame the player but am disappointed with the coach. Also, surprised that some think it was just fine. To me records should be taken serious and this one just simply feels bad. I understand there are some on this board who get very upset at anything negative against Decquire. If those who are blasting me took a minute and watched the post game interview you probably will still disagree with me, but maybe understand my perspective

I'm pretty sure that's what got people going, it's the lack of.

I agree that Wyoming Griz is a condescending asshole on this board. However, I agree with him/her in this thread as far as the part about the coaches encouraging individual records being broken against such a weak opponent. NOw that is a bad look.

We should probably stop scheduling Idaho, also. They are only up 39-31 at half on SAGU but was 29-31 before 3 straight 3 point opportunities (a 3FG and 2 and-ones) for Idaho with about a minute until half.
