GRIZ/Fresno state game thread

Nice to see them step it up on defense, and at the same time show some poise rather than panicking when they got down by 10. Different from teams of recent years.
 
Great W, they did it with defense! That was the best defense we played this year, against a solid team. Qvale, Selvig, McGillis, AJ, and Cherry are great defensively. Cherry deservingly was MVP, could not ask more of your point guard. We are seeing him mature into a superstar.

I would love to see us run more with Cherry. He pushes the ball well, we just do not have the horses to run with him though.
 
Great gutty game, Griz. Speed kills, and Griz used it tho their advantage against FSU. When the Griz went to a 2-Bigs and 3-Fast lineup, they took control. Griz did not catch on against NOCO until it was too late that a second penetrator on the floor would take pressure off of AJ. Fresno State was way more talented than NOCO, but NOCO played great team defense. What a concept!
 
:? Great strategy at the end getting our .361 % free throw shooter to the line and our 20% three point shooter a tough look. :? :D It was a good win and I did think we were toast when it was 35-45 :D

The win clearly would not have happened without the aforementioned player on the floor. It really helps when the quickest guy (and possibly best defender) in the game is one of your guys! :)

Totally agree. I was stoked to see Cherry finally sink some from the charity stripe. He is hard to keep off the floor solely based on his FT shooting. His D and his moves around the 12 ft. mark from the basket are amazing.
