MISSOULA - Every new season begins with optimism. So it's no surprise the Griz already sound confident, even with a very difficult schedule on the horizon.
Montana will play road games this fall at Eastern Washington, Cal Poly, and three-time defending national champ North Dakota State. Plus they open the campaign up in the FBS level, at Wyoming. But before they even stepped onto the practice field, the veteran quarterback let us know he wants a shot at the Cowboys.
"Well I think we can go down and win that game, said Griz Quarterback Jordan Johnson. "Just ‘cause they have the title of FBS doesn't mean that they're necessarily a better team than we are."
"Obviously our schedule is difficult. But you know, that doesn't matter. We're excited to go to Laramie. I think we'll be very well prepared," said Griz Head Coach Mick Delaney.
"That's what you play for. To play the best. You don't want to have a bunch of scrubs on your schedule, cause who are you if you're just beating up on little kids. So I mean, it's a good test for us," said Griz Running Back Jordan Canada. "We're going to see where we're at right out of the gate."
The Griz still have 22 practices and 3 scrimmages to go before they take on Wyoming on August 30th.
