Their location in Billings is the best one in Montana by far. It is comparable to locations in bigger cities. Billings as a town probably has more Cat fans than Griz now especially with the Dowlers being stars on the Cats and Junior Bergen no longer being on the Griz. It is crazy to me that we didn’t have anyone from Billings West on the team this past season. Billings West probably had the most players on the Griz from any high school during Bobby 1.0.

I don’t have the list of everyone from both high schools in front of me but it seems like more came from Billings West. Billings West also has almost twice the enrollment of Butte which would make it more likely more players have come from Billings West.

From 2001-2015 there were 11 players who came to the Griz from Billings West and 6 from Butte High School. You are out to lunch again. Post less before researching your post.

I am sorry that you feel sad about political reality in Montana. No one who pays attention to the Board of Regents reasonably believes that moving up is a realistic possibility in the foreseeable future.

Can you enlighten me a little on that? It has now been 11 years since I've attended a meeting or paid close attention to BoR meetings, I only really read the minutes if there is some particular issue I care about and skip the rest.

Why would they be stopping the Griz from moving up? I had thought their only requirement was that both teams had to go together.

I don't really want us to move up, but I'd love to be educated more on where the Regents stand on it.

I am in the move up camp and do agree that there would be additional revenue from tv. But the only downside is it could mean weird non-traditional days and times for games. Admittedly that part isn’t easy when a lot of your fans are driving from out of town.

Looking at the MAC it’s so clear how much weekday games absolutely destroy fanbases.

Yes, I have been to the YC many times. Have skied with Hank Kashiwa and know him. Had lunch with Warren Miller once. One of my best friends is a mucky muck there. My cousins took me. They eventually sold to the YC company, Lone Mountain. Hey, I graduated from Bozeman high. Am 5th generation Montanan on my grandfather's side and about 100th on my great grandmother and grandmother's side. You can't set foot in the YC, because they won't let you in.

I get your point hoops. But the griz wouldn't have sniffed the natty in '23 if it wasn't for a Montana kid alone. Cats wouldn't have won the whole thing this year if not for Montana kids.

I’m not saying it didn’t happen. I am saying it doesn’t count towards Pflugrad’s record according to the NCAA. If you want to go with 1-1 that is still not a winning record in the rivalry as a head coach.
