Alright, since everyone seems to be putting there 2 cents in, I will too. First of all, to whomever said the band sucks, I want to see YOU get out and practice Monday Wednesday and Friday afternoons, memorize all the show music, and learn new drill every, oh, two or three weeks. What the band does is a challenge. You wear a wool uniform when it's 100 degrees in the stadium and march in the heat. We have it almost as bad as the football team as far as uniforms go. At least their jerseys breathe. Anyway, I'd like to see whomever started s-talking the band put themselves in my shoes as a marcher. It's not easy. It requires weeks of practice. We come to school an entire week early and put in roughly 10 hours of practice every day that week. We may not be perfect, but we're pretty damn good. Better than the sad excuse of a band Bozeman has.
SECOND! Monte and Mo are one of the reasons I enjoy the games. Honestly, they are something to watch since the team is obviously sucking this year. Mo was an awesome addition. I think it is really nice the Monte has a little buddy. And come on, Mo is just so freaking cute.
As for the way the team is playing this year, yes, they need to step it up. I must admit I am starting to lose a little faith in my team. I came from a town where my high school football team lost every game. Last year, as a freshmen, I so so so enjoyed the fact that I was finally part of a winning school. I am trying to keep my hopes high that the boys will start pulling out a few miracles. I know it's easier said than done, but the offense really needs to step it up. There have been a lot of plays where someone was wide open and the QB completely ignored it and took a sack because he was too chicken to throw. I don't know, maybe that's just the impression I'm getting. All I can really say is, if Delany doesn't step up his coaching, and the Griz don't go to the Playoffs, he's going to have quite a few angry Griz fans banging on his door with torches and pitchforks.

Great post! Thanks for posting. I always appreciate anyone from the GMB's insight regarding the most excellent GMB. Great half time show last Saturday too! The sound was amazing. Props to you and all the members of the GMB. It's a pleasure to have the GMB as part of the whole college game day experience.

I thought the band was great Saturday. Does the band director know anything about coaching football?

This program is in several tight spots. We all know the issues. I has said before that this season is key for this program. If we had a winning season and made playoffs business as usual to prospective recruits.
But if we have a loosing season I believe recruits that thought about coming here may go elsewhere. In some regards many other BSC schools get just the level of athlete UM is getting. However UM is in a different boat. We have been the flagship of the Conf for years. I just see a lot of room for error here. If Delaney can not at Lear produce a winning season he has to go. If we have a loosing season and he stays we could easily have another bad season next year. Recruiting could be impacted for several years. Then even if we land a great coach he may not have the talent to compete for another few years. To much is at stake to have this happen.

Delaney at Lear? Really? A loosing season; is that the opposite of a tightening season? I hope you're drinking.

GMBGEEK2015...I liked your post, I think it's cool what you guys do and I know you guys work hard. One of the greatest UM students EVER, was not an athlete, but a member of the Grizzly marching band. Nate Schwebber. Hopefully, his legend is still talked about amongst the GMB.

However, you are dead wrong about one thing and that is Mo. The addition of Mo was a corporate slap in the face to Griz fans and is a detriment to what was a proud mascot tradition at UM. Monte was a two-time Mascot of the Year, as a SOLO act. Now he and Mo's act is boring, bad and downright lame. And while I am one of those fans who's pretty much there to watch football and scream my lungs out when the Griz are on D, I was always proud to have a great and unique mascot like Monte. Mo completely ruined that for me, and for MANY fans, and once more, that addition was nothing more than another corporate ploy by UM. So while I fully appreciate the GMB, go sell Mo somewhere else. If I never see that kid in that suit again, it will be too soon.

i THINK it was a couple of homecoming's ago, Monte, Mo, Rocky, Benny and the Lil' Ceasars dude all ran roughshot on Wash-Griz on the same day. It was a damned three-ring circus.
