Griz Football is in a Great Place

The overwhelming majority of FBS, other FCS, Div. II, Div. III and NAIA teams would be over-the-moon happy to be 11-1, have 18 all conference players, have the winningest coach in their conference's history, have a hard-working staff with several alum and NFL veterans, have the best stadium and new or newer facilities, and just signed a class of 20 high-school studs. : ) !!!

We are in really tall cotton right now, and we need to take a deep breath, pinch ourselves, and be grateful for where we are and what we have. !!! ( I think we're kind of spoiled. !!! )

When were the Rims built?

The fact is we aren’t the majority of FCS teams. We demand greatness.

Natty or bust when you have the kind of resources we do in a languishing division that has MAYBE 4-6 good teams in it for the entire country. If we aren’t winning it, we should at least be routinely appearing in it as the Cats are.

We should go 11-1 in a historically weak Big Sky conference with a schedule where we have literally double the amount of home versus away games.

If any of us are being honest, 1 championship appearance in 8 years, 1 conference title, and 2-5 versus the Cats is not the standard any of us hoped for when he rehired Bobby. Nor is it the standard he set for himself.

The Cats have become a national power on his watch and routinely out recruit us for the state’s top players, where they often become impact players.

We seemingly cannot establish any level of dominance in the trenches, which is a hallmark of both successful Griz programs of the past and FCS national champions in general.

A natty run through the “quadrant of death” would go a long way towards dispelling these questions and Hauck’s reputation as “Big Game Bob”. Can he and this team rise to the occasion? If not, 11-1 is just meaningless window dressing.

I’m going to ask you the same question that my wife asks me when I come in the house from working in the garage.

How many?

Yes, the sky is falling, Ebenezer--better get out your umbrella. !!!

So hypothetically, if the griz finish with a 13-2 record, a loss in the semis and two losses to the bobcats is that a successful season to you?..
Not entirely successful to me...will crush my spirit for about a day. Then, I'll realize it is one year further along a near-total rebuild...with a very, very bright future based on the roster.

BH doing well in the portal...proof all over the place.

When was the last time the Griz returned a 1st Team all big sky QB? Defense next year...I'll take it all day long.

Future will remain bright...

I’m not sure what is so difficult to understand about “This thread is for positive people”???
We just poured it on the SDSU. This was an absolute masterclass of offensive play calling and execution. D played tough until the last play. I have been a Griz fan for 41 years. I consider this to be a successful season regardless of final outcome and I couldn’t be more proud to be a MONTANA GRIZZLY!!!

Were you watching the same game I was today? Can’t establish dominance in the trenches? Check out the rushing yards of each team.

And newsflash: the ‘Scats have been in exactly ONE more finals than the Griz in recent years…so this statement of “should be appearing routinely like the ‘Scats are” is pure bullshit.
