Griz Football Coaching Staff

The only thing I worry about with these older coaches no doubt they have high quality experience but are they able to recruit in this new age of kids. You have to be able to use Social media. I hope Green and Bonnicksen can keep Sacks and Baer up to speed.

I will say this that I believe Baer is simply a place holder at this point until Tim Hauck gets here. He got his contract renewed with Philly but all indications are from Bobby is that his brother will be back in the future so maybe this is just a one year deal and if Baer performs well then we’ll see.

When Bobby was hired first time everyone was impressed with him already having a staff in mind at interview....this time seems like on defensive side it has been a cluster #$%&. No Tim (like many hoped), no SDSU guy who was intriguing....what's left is FBS guys who are long in the tooth and not impressive in their production, couple that with ability of them to be able to relate to 18 year old recruits might be an issue for certain.

Rosy and Pease are my guess two who Bobby wanted, but defensively it looks like he went way down the wishlist to get a staff. This is very concerning considering Stitt likely would have kept the job had he a better defensive staff....not so sure this is the "upgrade" needed to put Montana back at the top if the heap.

No of course I’m just relaying what Bobby said on the radio. The expectation is the expectation. With Baer I get the hesitation I think everyone will have doubts unless he proves us wrong. Right now we just don’t know. We don’t have a crystal ball.....

I am OK with Rosenbach as he got caught up in the Pflu/MD switch and really didn't get a chance to run what he was hired to by MD. I am lukewarm on Pease, hoping he has matured over the past decade. As for Baer, not overly impressed.

Yeah I agree his past isn’t great so I have some doubts but I’ll withhold judgment officially until I see how it goes with spring ball. If I don’t like what I see I’ll be the first to overreact.

Gawd, there are a bunch of unrealistic dreamers on here! Who, exactly, did you have in mind who already has a stellar record and hasn't yet moved up to a big-time football school, AND is willing to move down to a Montana for a 75 to 95% cut in pay. Scenery and trout will pay some of the bill but not much. Take a coach with a lot of experience who has comparatively superior facilities, recruits, and a positive football atmosphere and you'll be surprised at the possibilities for success.

I’m in total agreement here. I will be the second to eat crow if things work out. I can’t wait to compare next years defense to the last 2...yards, turn overs, points per game, and red zone results. If the Griz score 84 ppg next year I won’t care, but not sure that’ll happen.

..let's keep in mind that Bobby is a head coach not a OC..Bobby will be in all involved with all
facets of the coaching this in my opinion will be the key...I was hoping that Brandan Fisher was
going to be on the staff to keep the mentoring of the young bucks...

Remember the old financial prophecy, "Past returns do not guarantee future success" , or for that matter "failure".

Admittedly, I'm not a fan of the body of work Coach Baer has produced to date, but I think he deserves one last shot. If he doesn't cut it he will still be better than another year under Semore. If I'm wrong I will gladly admit it. If I'm right however and Coach Baer does hold his own, think how much better off we'll be when Tim does take over!
