It's putting money on the other team to do something positive. Not good.

I guess that's true if you think that margin of victory matters in the standings...In my eyes, losing by eight is just as negative as losing by ten, but that's just me...

What if the Griz were favored by 25? You still wouldn't lay a couple hundred against them covering? If 9 is already suicide, then 25 isn't much different....

But you've already said that you think 9.5 is suicide. By doing so, aren't you effectively "betting" that the Griz will not win by that much. Perhaps you mean that opinions do not affect Karma unless there is money backing them. I disagree, but I understand why someone would think that.

Personally, I'd stay away. I just can't root for an opposing team in any form. Unless the sum is very large. When the bets and lines are smallish, I'd stay away for the most part. Of course things change when you get out on the extremes of either.
