The Griz have been playing terrible and getting helped out by the refs and are still down 5.

I expect the 25-6 Griz to play like it....and they do when the team effort is BALANCED.

Quit whining about the officials. All that proves is that you don't sh*t about the game. But then, we already knew that from your posts in the football threads.
 
some of you aren't even attempting to be objective here. growler....you're not even watching the game so commenting on how selvig is playing is pretty odd.

ewu had a great game play. they had their bigs spread the floor keeping both selvig and ward out of the lane. their guards are simply having their way with you. cherry is a stud defender....but THIS game....so far....he's getting lit up.

ewu guards are doing all of the damage offensively. bigs are doing nothing. tinks wisely went to a zone to keep selvig and ward in the lane.
 
Good way to finish the half and build on it in the second. I don't see this team giving this game up in front of the home crowd, I don't think the starters will allow it. I think we see a completely different, fired up Griz team come second half.

That said, what a load of horse crap that foul was on Weisner. Replays showed that it was no foul.
 
GRIZ are lucky to be down only 5. Collectively, the GRIZ are struggling offensively, and defensively they have not been as consistent as they normally are, but just enough Defense to keep them in the game. Shitty calls on both sides, Selvig has an extra 2 points from shitty calls. EWU has about an extra 5 points from shitty calls.

I have faith our coaches will make the right strategic changes at the half. The players need to start executing more consistently. Look for Will Cherry to come out of the half very fired up!!!

Colimon (sp?) has to cool down some, one would think, at least.
 
35-30 Eags at the half.

Selvig is a liability right now. He is getting abused down low by the quickness of EWU's front court. His offense is anemic.

Ward is struggling to make 3 footers with contact. His 11 points could easliy be 17. 1 of 5 shooting for him.

Collimon has 16, on 7-10 shooting, most of them coming from under 10 feet.

Griz need to shore up the D, maybe a bit of zone defense? Griz are up 25-15 on the boards, yet are being out scored in the paint 16-6.


I like our chances to pull this out, but the defense and Selvig's offense needs to improve for that to happen.
 
What a game so far... Griz need to chill the f*ck out & go back to what they were doing before. I don't even recognize the team playing the first half.

Selvig has 2 of them! If Ward could make the bunnies it would be higher also.
 
OK, enough of this crap. Here's an important question. Does coach Hayford from EWU look more like Dr. Evil or more like the guy from "Dispicable Me"? I wish D2 were here to take a poll.

ya. him making half of his shots and leading you in assists is just killing you. not wards 1-5. or kareems 0-6. or your 11% shooting from three. :lol:
 
If I were tinkle I would go with a more athletic lineup. For all he does well selvig can't play perimeter man defense. He doesnt move well.

If we continue playing like this, we won't get to Weber State. This is not even close to the GRIZ we have seen the last 2 months.

From my seats in 202, ward needs to catch he gd ball and finish....defensively, ward and selvig are struggling, but it's pretty much a poor effort across the board.
