GRIZ/EWU game 2 thread

OHHH MY GOD!!!!!

TDC just said that prior to the tipoff, he was told by ewooo staff to have his team exit from the door behind their bench "when the fans stormed the court". TDC that really gave them some fire.

WOW!!!!!! Instead, they got the TRAIL OF TEARS!!!!!!!!!

nothing surprises me when it comes to ewooo anymore.

Really impressed by how smart and composed the Griz were. Especially after the loss to Idaho.
Could have been really flat after that.

To be perfectly honest I thought the Griz were going to come out VERY flat and if I were betting on the score I would have bet EWU would have won by double figures.

Says a lot about this team and this coaching staff that they didn't come out flat, didn't hang their heads and took down the first place team in conference on the road after that heartbreaking loss @Idaho!

Oh god that's classic!

Key strategic coaching move of this game, Travis moving Breunig to point forward for the minutes Gregory was out after his 4th foul. That really messed with EWU's defense. That is terrific coaching. That is a luxury we have with Breunig's versatility He was absolutely terrific this game.

That is funny, but not surprising. I am sure many home teams have given visiting teams precautionary measures to avoid another Kansas State/Kansas issue.

GRIZ offense was very consistent this game. Perfect FT shooting sure helped :thumb:

Amazing how one athletic department can employ so many douche bags in positions of authority.

True. But there's a big difference between "In the event the fans storm the court" and "WHEN the fans storm the court".

Well, to be fair, they have a lot of DBs in the immediate vicinity from which to hire.

DeCuire said that the coaches tabbed Fabijan Kryslovic as "Player of the Game" for his outstanding defensive game against Venky Jois, who was held to a total of four points.

Jois got 10 and 11 boards for a double double

That was part of what I meant when I said how impressed I was by how smart the Griz played.

Sort of like Patton moving around troops, the Griz employed a strategy that totally caught EWU off guard.

And as you say, Breunig was terrific. Not only did he have, what, 24 points, but he also had something like 6 assists. Incredible for a big guy to have that many points and that many assists at the same time. I recall he also had a key block late in the game too.

Kudos to him.

B was a beast today. ewoo had no answer for him. I noticed, too, that the idiot students chanting "cut from UDub" shut up pretty damn fast!!! You didn't hear much of that after about 5 minutes in.

Exactly. I don't know how many listened to the radio feed (I did because that's all I had), but the microphones picked up a lot of classy phrases from the EWU faithful.

You must be. Either that, or you were sitting far away from press row.

And 5 turnovers. Krslovic did a great job keeping him from being much of an impact scoring inside. Very nice to have a true freshman that's able to go out there and take care of business against one of the best post players in the Big Sky.

Has anyone run down the tiebreaker scenarios? If I understand correctly, Sac State would win a 4 tie (with NAU as the 4th team by beating Sac State) and we would win a 3 way tie with NAU and EWU.

Griz had a very good defensive game; one of the best of the season.
