Griz/Eags In Game Thread

Granted about the free throws, but it does look good when 63.6 % (21 - 33) on FGs and 53.8 % (7 - 13) on the treys. That looks impressive!!!

Tinks really did a nice job getting these guys ready to play from the start, they answered the EWU run, and they are playing like we all thought they could.

cams gotten cheated on 2 fouls that foul on the 3 he didnt even touch him.

That may be, but he was too close, and that is why he got that call. No need to give the refs a reason to make a call like that when a guy is shooting a jumper from 21'. :twocents:

It's only one game, and this team obviously still has a lot of work to do, and I recognize the Eagles are not good, but there were a lot of good things from this game. Hopefully the Griz can build on them, if not for this year then for the upcoming seasons.

One game is what we have been asking for. It is something to build on hopefully. They played 40 minutes tonight. Congrats Tinks and Griz BB players!

HUGE win for the Griz!!!

Well done boys, well done!

Good inside play, working the post and despite a ton of turnovers, looks like we shot the ball better than normal...

Now, go get one on the road...

9 of the 15 turnovers were in the paint on the bigs, Strait, Qvale, and Hasquet. The guard play was pretty darn good, 3:1 assist to turnover ratio, I will live with that any day.

Eagles are not so bad that they can't beat the better teams in the league. Eagles did beat PSU who is 1 game behind the leaders. So, I am not going to discount this win by the Griz. This was a good win, and certainly a confidence booster.

great game for the griz. the posts were great even though we werent challenged quite as strong as we have been by other teams. great play by all the guards too. i also liked the way the coaches ran the offense with more high los and some pick and rolls. go griz!

Griz played good team basketball. I hope they continue with the
strong emphasis on the post; noone can match us. We need to win
the next three games. Go Griz.

I thought it was interesting in the interview after the game that Tinkle indicated -- as I heard it -- that Rundles and Martin are splitting 30 minutes a game between them at guard now. I guess that's an indication of the Griz going with a bigger lineup, as CET and Staud must be getting the rest of the guard minutes. Qvale certainly responded to the challenge, in terms of rebounds and pts. Nice to see Graves and Vanderjagt get a little bit of a reward -- albeit pretty small one -- for their work in practice.
