Griz/Eagle Game Thread

Big win for WSU. 86 - 79 final.

2 game lead in the conference now. Only 4 games left for Weber in conference. They're sitting very pretty to host the tourney.

SLC is not a difficult drive for Missoula folk at all.

We sure had a great time down there last March. :thumb:

If you have to go on the road for the BSC Tourney, that is the best place for UM to go. I still think the league goes to the last weekend, anything can happen. ISU was in the catbird seat 2 weeks ago until they choked.

just got back from the MSU-PSU game

Zomora had a 6 block night!
and once again the opposing coach gets td up.

**edit**

interesting ending of the game. on the double t poorgriz posted only Carlos Taylor shot FTs, the refs did not let anyone from PSU shoot any. :werd:

WSU.....9 - 3
ISU......6 - 4
UM.......6 - 4
MSU.....6 - 4
NAU.....7 - 5
PSU.....6 - 6
EWU....5 - 7
SAC.....3 - 7
UNC.....2 - 10

Weber wraps with 3 out of 4 on the road. EWU (2/7), PSU(2/8) and SAC. They also host Montana.

The UM game is 2/14, and the SAC game is 2/26. Weber is most likely going to be rusty going into the tourney. They're also going to have their hands full Wednesday and Thursday night playing back to back road games.

It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Happens everytime, just when I'm about to give up on them they win a big game!

Good game for Mayes coming off the bench to score 11
I just got back from the game. I have to wonder how Stuckey like wearing Mayes in the second half. Stu played tremendous defense on Stuckey. Cam Rundles also had a good second half. Hopefully his mini-slump is over. Hasquet made a strong case for Big Sky Conference player of the week honors. Nice crowd and an exciting win!

Stu is a solid defender, he shut down a red hot Stuckey in Missoula last year to seal the deal as well!

Great game to watch, despite of officials bailing Stuckey out time and time again. Dloughy got screwed, and Does Chavez have some sort of detector on him? 2 games in a row where he was called for cheapies. EWU also had a few bad calls go against them though. BSC officials need to swallow the whistle more.

Not surprised the GRIZ won, but how they won? FT shooting, penetrating (Dloughy), taking care of the ball (2nd half), and rebounding were what won this game for them. Mayes and Dloughy made things tough for Stuckey, did a good job taking him out of his game and kept him from getting in a zone.

Dloughy struggled from the field, but finally decided to penetrate, take fouls, and dished. Came up big defensively, from the line, and key rebounds. Great effort tonight by Dloughy! :thumb:

Strait, again was being double teamed every time he touched it. Scored well and did a great job kicking the ball out.

Mayes, great job off the bench again, offensively and defensively. His athleticism is huge for the GRIZ.

Martin, solid Defense, great passing, and huge shots down the stretch.

Hasquet, once again a GREAT game. He was the best player on the court tonight. Played with heart both games this weekend. Earlier this year, when he got T'd up, I got on his bandwagon. I have stuck with him the whole year, especially so when many were bashing him and Martin. I am so glad he has not let me down, Thank you Jordan! He is the biggest key to this year's GRIZ and will continue to be the next 2 years. Folks he is not only exceding expectations, but proving to be an All BSC player. It would be hard to name 10 better players in the conference. Keep it up Jordan.

Great win tonight, lets keep playing with heart for 40 minutes every game!! This conference can be won still, lets run the tables.

Finally, GREAT CROWD involvement tonight. Coach Marso said it well on the post game show. Tonight's crowd made it easier for the GRIZ to play hard, because of the energy the crowd provided. Coach Marso called tonight's win a GRIZ nation win, not a team win!!! That shows a lot of class by him. He and Wayne both have been hinting and politely asking for crowd support. Lets continue what we had tonight and even get more in there rest of the season!!!!! BTW, wednesday home game this coming week.

IF you had actually seen the game you would have given Dlouhy some props too. Look at the minutes played. Stuckey taking stupid shots at the end wasn't due to lock down D, it was more Stuckey forcing it. Mayes did a nice job, but to give him all the credit is crazy.

Point out where in my post I give Stu all the credit for this one win. All I said was that he was a solid defender and last year he did a hell of a job shuting down Stuckey.
