For those who read the story, this is near the bottom: "...these were created using estimates of team support based on each team’s share of Facebook “likes” in a ZIP code. We then applied an algorithm to deal with statistical noise and fill in gaps where data was missing. Facebook “likes” are an imperfect measure, but as we’ve noted before, Facebook likes show broadly similar patterns to polls.
...In the coming weeks, we’ll also release specific ones just for some conferences."
Seems to me that it's entirely possible that their algorithm didn't pick up UM because there are so many fan pages for it, splitting up the number of likes. Or SOMETHING. I would highly doubt that they excluded UM on purpose... I'm thinking that their method excluded the Griz somehow. My assumption is based on Idaho showing up at all, to tell you the truth. That yellow spot in the Idaho panhandle seems way bigger than it should be. I would guess UM's footprint would be AT LEAST as big as Idaho's. So, I suspect something is amiss..
