The other thing I'm hearing besides the student section being a HUGE boost....

CSU is pretty much terrible.

The positive is the Griz didn't play to the level of the competition and they put it on them when they had a chance!

Absolutely, and the minimal TO's is an excellent sign.

WOW, that was one of the best defensive efforts and the most desire we have seen the past few years. Unbelievably enough I watched on Bigskytv, I have to admit once I got the video it was impressive. :thumb:

Even more impressive was defense, desire, and teamwork. Our frontline is fine with Strait, Hasquet, Qvale, and Sharp. They all rebounded and played tough defense. Great ball movement and team defense too. A few forced shots is the only negative I seen. Way to take care of the ball too!!!!! :thumb:

Students,  (standing ovation), by the way I could tell the players fed off the students to start the game. Only one complaint on the students, keep the noise going the whole game! Students, regardless of where you sit, bring it like this rest of the year. This is a great start to the season on all accounts. :thumb:

Everyone scored too, what hops by Graves. Damn what elevation. I want to see more of him come conference play or against athletic quick guards. Now onto Gonzaga, play like we did the 2nd half and we could surprise the nation.

Also great 3 pt shooting, earlier this week I said I would not be surprised to see the GRIZ hit near 40% clip from 3 this year. So far they are proving that right. Wow, Staudacher, Martin, and Rundles look confident from downtown. Staudacher has one pretty shot! He squares up perfect and his release is much quicker than last year.

IF the GRIZ can play like this every game, will the attendance be there? I sure the hell hope so. I have a feeling this team is on a mission this year. Especially defense and rebounding. I LOVE IT! :thumb:

So is CSU that crappy, or is this something to really get excited over? That was a huge win.

Pretty cool atmosphere in there, and you're right down on the floor with the guys unlike football. I'll be sure to keep coming.

CSU is picked to finish last in their league, despite the hyped recruiting class. The Griz will have a much better idea where they stand Sunday after they play a nationally ranked Goinzaga team in The Kennell.

give us back our f*****g seats.

Mick and the CSU announcers both were very complimentary off the crowd, especially the student section. If you can get them to make that much noise for an entire game, I don't think there is any question The Zoo will return. Great job you guys!

Gotta say, give the students the seats back...and leave out press row. In time this has to happen!!!

Now, what the hell is wrong with the other 5000 people. If you stand up and yell people look at ya like you are a fool. Seems like there is no passion, just people who want to watcha game on a Friday night. Team looked good!

Jordan is getting better every f^*%$g game!! (whata dunk!!!!)

Strait is still unstoppable!

If they shoot the three like this, they can go for a ride.

Hope they have the composure with Rundles, like Virgil or Criswell, if they have it, they will be good.

So how about the dunk by the freshman guard to end the game? Mick made it sound like it was quite impressive.

44-26 Griz at halftime. Staudacher has 11. Hasquet with 14 and 4 boards.

Imagine how big the lead would be if the Griz were making more than 63% of their free throws!

44-26? You must have ben playing the John Madden college basketball version. I was there. It was 26 - 19 and it looked like hitting 50 for the game would be a challenge. 44-26 Hmm?

It was, and would have been even more so if there was not a defender near him. He got up quick and high, it was impressive for a smaller guy. The kid has mad hops.

hey swill, were you in the front with the Lakers hat on Backwards?

next to the Dude with the gnarly hair?

Went to the game. Awesome. This team plays very unselfishly and has good chemistry. They will really see where they stand Sunday.

Great game! The Griz were light years ahead of CSU in terms of playing like a team. I seriously doubt the big CSU center is a future NBA player. He simply could not handle Strait. Also, solid and productive contributions from Elgin-Taylor, Sharp and Qvale coming off of the bench . Vanderjagt and Selvig did not play. As for the students, they earned the lower deck back. There were tons of them in the upper end seats too. They will get rowdier with practice. There is no question that having a packed student section on the floor contributed greatly to the atmosphere. Now the students have to keep showing up for the rest of the season and fill their sections to complete the deal! Nice job all around!
