Griz Coach radio show 12-12-19

is there a radio show weblink ? is there a Hauck radio interview this week ?

It was probably the most entertaining coach show of the year this week.

Just search "inside the Griz den" in your podcast app search engine. It's free and has other good content including the radio interviews. My favorite is the Tootell and Nuanez pod. Those guys cover the Griz in depth like no one else.

Thanks

Different coaches, different approaches when dealing with the media.

What I got out of SWX Sports report tonight was Bobby hates playing the same team twice in a season. He's only ever beaten same team twice five times in his career.

Bobby hates road games. He hates night games. He hates Friday games. Said all college football should be played Saturday afternoons.

Classic Hauck. Plays up the low expectations, hoping to pull off a win.

I like it. Kind of a superstition thing, exactly why I hate predicting scores.

See you tomorrow in Ogden and if the stars line up next weekend in WGS.

One of the biggest wins of his coaching career was a road game; a night game, a Friday game. Harrisonburg, VA, #1 JMU 12/12/08. Semifinals; UM 35 JMU 27.

Probably THE biggest win of his career.

Great game. I was there. Very exciting. Tony Romo called Bergquist the night before to say good luck. Cole's sister knew Romo. Some brothers of players bribed my 11 year old son to go down hall on Friday night and invite some cheerleaders to their/our party at hotel. They came. My son was bribed again to go down hall and get Monte to come. He came, after putting his uni on. An incredible win. The Griz middle backer dislocated his elbow right before halftime. He came back out, all taped up, during the third quarter and played. Tough kid. Lebsock. My daughter booked our family's flights to Chattanooga, the moment the game ended. Along with App St semi in Missoula, and Furman in '01, the most exciting Griz game I have attended.

This is my view too:

"Bobby hates road games. He hates night games. He hates Friday games. Said all college football should be played Saturday afternoons."

High school football is for Friday nights.

13 lost for season. Wonder if this includes those who have chosen not to return next year, or only truly season ending injuries.

My first encounter with PlayerRep and his wife at the bar. A surprise reunion with old friend Tim Pfahler. At the game we sat right across the aisle from Jeff Fisher. That and the Appy game second only to the '95 NC game. Relative to those 3 games, the '01 Furman game was a bit of a bore.

Yup. I missed the '95 game. The excitement of the '01 game was the tension and excitement of winning. And Hogan gave my buddy and I a sideline pass, and my turn included the whole second quarter when I walked down the sideline as the Griz drove the length of the field for their only TD, with multiple short out passes to Molden on the Griz sideline, sometimes ending almost at my feet.

I also liked the '08 and '09 games and trip experiences, even tho they weren't victories. Griz chants, cheers and songs in Sticky Fingers. What could be better.
