GRIZ/Cats threads

Griz started to catch up when they stopped bombing away so much from the outside and started getting it inside to Qvale. Also stopped giving away so many easy buckets to the Cats.
 
good gravy, we cannot buy a bucket. And the cats are throwing stuff in from behind their heads..

This is a highschool game right now. Griz put a run on, and this is a different game. In fact neither end seems like there is an offense being run at either end. No continuity.

We are lucky to be within 7 at the half. Listening to the cats announcer, everything is a hold. Sounds like he is watching a football game.

Shot selection for us in the first half wasn't bad, we were much better when Qvale was getting touches. We can take them off the dribble, we just can't turn the ball over in the middle of the lane.
 
I do not get it. Right now Huse is dictating personnel. Our biggest advantage is inside with Qvale and Selvig. We need to force the Cats to matchup with us, instead of them forcing our hand. Qvale and Selvig were out there together for a short time and we made a little run.

Cherry and Johnson have struggled so far this game. I expect that to change the 2nd half. We lucky to be down 7 at the half.
 
We slowed the penetration in the matchup. Me personally we are really good in the matchup. I like how it changed the pace of play in the last 5 minutes. in that time period we started opening up the floor a bunch. I can tell you if this remains a bit of a high school half court game, MSU is going to win by 15 or more. We got passing angles into the post when they couldn't double team us to death. Hard to get post entry when we have to lob it in over the top.
 
Everything about this game indicates a high school environment. Especially the rinky dink "let's get fired up, we are fired up" fans! Are you kidding me? That is something I haven't heard since...well, high school.
 
Watching this travesty on BigSuck, and two things strike me:

1. This is the LEAST I have ever seen AJ with the basketball.
2. If MSU is dogpoop, which they are, we aren't very good either. This is playground rat ball, and they are throwing in some six move reverse pivot bankshot stuff from the top of the key.

We are so disjointed. We are not good at all tonight. This is NOT the team I saw play Washington or Oregon.

Durr. if we don't stop this run right now, this game is over.
 
So, Howard goes down for the SIXTH time, I bet his little trip to the locker room is a prima donna ploy too! :clap:
 
I maintain, this cannot be a half court game. We are getting used both offensively and defensively in the half court, we are measurably better when there is flow in the game. This has been the case most of the year.

Interesting we start scoring when AJ touches the basketball.

BTW 42-32 11 minutes left in the second half. Stockton at the liine.
 
Difference in this game is their guards playing better than ours and making things happen. Also they have made some near miracluous shots.
