I cannot understand stall ball.

Neither can I. It doesn't work, stops any momentum the Griz have going, lets the other team back in the game, and then makes it difficult for the Griz to get their offense out of stall ball mode and going again.

Thankfully it didn't bite us in the ass this game. I really wish TInkle would stop going to that when we get a decent lead with tons of time still on the clock. Stall ball with 2 minutes to go and a 10 point lead? Fine. Stall ball with 8 minutes to go and a 10 point lead? NOPE.

Am watching late re-run of game. Observations: A lot of peripheral dribbling; driving into traffic without kick-outs to guys sliding into open spots; during game and as Griz went to eat clock the shots with 5 or less on the clock were extremely low percentage--closer game and these may have changed the outcome against a good team.

... The Griz held Montana State to 40 percent shooting and won the battle of the boards, 34-32. It marked just the second time this season the Griz won the rebounding battle.

Jamar, who finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Hutchison have never lost to the Cats in Bozeman and will take a 7-0 mark into their second meeting later this year in Missoula.

“It means a lot,” Jamar said. “There’s something about that dark blue that gets me going. We needed this win more than the rivalry. I love the rivalry – I feel like I am from Montana, that’s how crazy I love this rivalry – but this was big. This was just one step closer to our goal. I’m happy about it now, but when we get on the bus to Missoula we’ll forget about and focus on next week.”

Nice road win for UM last night. I thought MSU had the better athletes, but once again Brad Huse was badly out coached. Both teams, I thought, looked pretty bad and I don't imagine either team making any noise in the post season. BTW: I really like watching Kareem Jamar play...I'd like to see him take over more games.

It's an incredibly frustrating time to be a MSU hoops fan. Here's what MSU has achieved since hiring Brad Huse (I also posted this on BN).

The achievements of MSU bball over the past 7+ years. Keep in mind, the BSC is one of the worst D1 conferences in the country.

Our guard play this year is excellent - maybe the best ever on a Griz team. I was surprised to find out on the TV broadcast that we are one of the nation's best in terms of turnovers, and as the announcers pointed out, a lot of this is attributable to our guards' decision making. Mario Dunn played like a veteran last night.

I have complete faith in Tinks' ability to recruit and/or develop some quality bigs. The future is bright for the Griz! Even so, we can still win this conference, or the conference tournament, in 2014.
