Well done GRIZ! Maintained a lead!
VERY solid performance. Loved the contributions from the bench.mtgrizrule said:Well done GRIZ! Maintained a lead!

Five players in double figures: Vazquez (14), Moody (16), Whitney (15), Sawyer (16) and Nap. Keep rolling. Go Griz.

Spot on with that Cat defense, that bore results. But one thing is apparent is the ref's discretion to call more fouls. A good number of times the Cat's were all over our players, slap, grab, push, wrap up and wrestle, etc, some of the tie ups were ridiculous, Cat players grabbing at the ball from behind, no foul. Offense, as others have observed, turnovers and ball movement issues. Obviously we have an inconsistent offense game. Gina on point brings the ball down, dribbles in circles, players not getting open enough, screens etc...what does Gina do, drive into tall timber traffic for a good luck shot. What is going on with Mac, poor show shooting, threw the ball away 6 times? Carmen not on, Konig not on, not a winning ticket. They play better defense there are more aggressive and they play better offense. They move the ball. They don’t stand out there dribbling for 20 seconds trying to drive in and then get a shot blocked or turn it over. Twenty turnovers is ridiculous. Their 2 seniors and their freshmen outplayed our experienced players by a lot. To me with the talent we have and lack of execution reflects on poor coaching.
Yep. And for almost 10 years now, Binford's defensive strategy has been pretty basic: a jump-trap D at the tip of the key just as Montana's point gets set to call/run the play. Today, from the second quarter on, it was even more basic, with the MSU point defender forcing Montana's point toward the sideline or center court. So... Montana backs out & re-sets the same play, which allows the Cat wing defenders to start jumping the passing lanes. Result: turnovers on cross-court passes.
Montana DID start getting the ball to Carmen and Dani at the high post midway through the fourth quarter, but by then they couldn't quite pull even.
