I'm sober, but I'm speculating that you may not be after that double post! :P

With this poor UM shooting display, I need a drink.
I can understand that..but MSU has come back from deficits more than any team I have seen in years. Not the time for UM to stick with the long shot.

The announcers are terrible too. Bad play, bad refs, bad announcers. I bet the popcorn sucks tonight too.

These two youngsters are much better than they were..I like their enthusiasm and they do their homework...the refs..same everywhere....play is because of frenzied defense...that is a good thing in the long run for a team like UM.

What the hell is with these internet announcers...they keep talking like its the last game for the seniors unless the tournament is here. They've done it several times.

Griz win a knuckle buster! Biggest difference I've seen with these team, and other past Griz teams is that they can take a knock-out punch, get up off the mat, then deliver their own. As I've said before, I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day of the week!

more flops tonight than a world cup final

more traveling than a MIchael Jordan exhibition

....but a win is a win, and the huge game awaits with the other cats

I won $1000 taking the Cats and 16 points with the bookie. Glad the Griz won, but I did not think they would cover, and they didn't.

Ah ha! The Griz have the Wildcats right where they want them...over confident.

let's be honest: since the loss to Weber, the two ugliest games the Griz have been BY FAR in have been the two 'scat games...as one would expect with a rivalry. I don't think tonight was any indication of our team's ability or potential results on Tuesday night... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

What has happened with the state of Bobcat Basketball? Even before Blount was lost, they have been on a free-fall. They have now lost 7 or is it 8 in a row.

That really was an ugly game, though the defensive performance by both teams made it look uglier than it probably was. There was a point either late in the first half or early in the second where they flashed the shooting percentage and I was shocked to see the Griz were shooting 50% despite the low score. I think what we saw tonight was a Griz team that was anxious to get out and assert themselves and take control early and they were forcing the offense. That coupled with a Cat team that was clearly fighting as hard as they could to retake control of their destiny. I gotta give credit to the sCats, though. They really played pretty inspired. I remember coming away from last year's Griz/Cat game in Bozo thinking Budinich was one of the better players on their team and I still think that. He can create a lot of mismatches and he shoots the ball well. He is going to be a pain for the next few years.

As has been said tonight, any win is a good one and I am PUMPED to get to go to this Weber game for all the marbles! Go Griz and protect home court!

BTW, the crowd did sound pretty good. Reported attendance, I think, was 7,003. A bit better than I expected. Wish the students would show up like that for every game!

Give the cats credit. They played very good D and made the game ugly, which is the only way for them to stay within 25 of the Griz. The Griz are better at all five positions on the floor, so to make it a contest, msu did what sac did a few weeks ago: make it an ugly affair. If they defended like that all year they'd have more wins.

The only thing that concerns me about today are rythm and confidence. There were times that it appeared as though both were lacking offensively for the Griz, particularly from Kareem, who just didn't appear to be shooting it with any confidence tonight, and double clutched a few wide open looks. Hopefully those issues won't carry over to Tuesday.

All in all, another great win over Little Brother. 7-0 for anyone counting.....

Beat weebs.
