GRIZ/cat mens thread

The GRIZ took care of business, and it could have been a much bigger blowout, if not for crappy 2nd half ft shooting. I hope the GRIZ draw 7K rest rest the season. 5 to 6 k rest the year would be a realistic expectation.

2nd unit? When were they in? I saw a couple of substitutions, but not many and when a close game comes up, as it will next week in Bozeman, MSU is going to be very aggressive, yet again....the Griz players looked tired from the mid second half...but, still managed to win big.....think how great they could be with just a bit of a rest for the starting 5-6....Nice game, tonight, though....
 
was a great performance by the griz. always great to jump out to a huge lead like that early. i thought the cats had a great gameplan early to double down and force cherry to shoot. if there is one knock on the guy it's his shooting. he was prepared and made us pay. i'm not surprised at all by the outcome. i have said all season i think you guys are the best in the league. i was surprised with the fact that it was never close. even when the cats cut it to 7 the game just always had the feel of being a blowout. congrats on the win. see ya saturday.

Ward played well when he was in there ... Jameer could make a big difference if he can play like he's capable of playing now that he's ready to go, apparently.
 
It will take a few weeks for Jamar to find his game and energy again. I love the intensity tonight from Tinkle and the players. That T was well long overdue and well timed.
 
Qvale had one of the best games I've ever seen a Grizzly center have.... 17 pts, 18 blocks, 3 assists...don't see blocks or steals listed on the stat chart, but I know he had quite a few of those too

just got back...big crowd, but not as rowdy as I would've liked. Griz played as well offensively in the middle of the first half as they have all year. To keep that lead with BQ on the bench was big. Cherry had a great first 20, and a shoddy second half, pretty eratic at times.

Defense played good, need to board a little better at times. Held the cats to 29% shooting. As the cats were warming up, they all looked like they had smooth strokes, thought we might be in trouble, but the D played well.

I know this is very early, but does anybody know the tie breakers for basketball? lot of ball to be played, just curious.

great game by the Griz. Major props go to Tinkle for game plan and getting the team ready. Maybe his best coaching performance ever. Big crowd, not loud. Prob partly because the pregame tailgate was a disaster, partly because most of the crowd doesn't watch basketball, partly because the Womens game. Oh Well, great college bb game nonetheless.

7. Stockton - Take a freaking shot for once! Take ten. Opposing teams know you never shoot so you're almost always wide open. Even if they don't go in, it will scare the hell out of opposing teams to the point where they won't be able to double Selvig and Qvale.
8. I haven't been this afraid of Woods since the Blair Witch Project. We go from great to marginal when he gets on the floor, all he does is take up space. Tinks needs to just suck it up and admit he made a mistake by bringing him in.

Just saying, not a big Woods fan, but is best game yet as a Griz. Showed tonight he might be a D-I player. Agree Autry is special, hope we don't run him off.
 
If Wood can find his outside shot, that would help. I like how he attacks the basket, specifically in the open court. You can see he is an athletic kid, just gotta find the stroke.
