When they built Dornblaser at that site, that track became a very fine cinder track that hosted the state Interscholastic track championships for many years. It was a very fast track.

The Dornblaser track was well drained and the very fine rolled cinders did not retain water. I never saw it in bad shape. The biggest problem with these tracks was that the source of cinders dried up.
