In looking at both the Griz and SDS sides of the bracket the Griz side is pretty top heavy.
Here is a look at where the teams on each side were ranked before this weekend’s games.
Teams ranked 1- 5: Griz 3, SDS 0
Teams ranked 6-10: Griz 3, SDS 2
Teams ranked 11-15: Griz 2, SDS 1
Teams ranked 16-20: Griz 1, SDS 2
Teams ranked 21-25: Griz 1, SDS 2
Teams not ranked : Griz 1, SDS 4
Griz have 6 teams that were ranked in the top 10 and SDS 2.
Griz have 8 teams that were ranked in the top 15 and SDS 3.
Griz have 3 teams that were ranked in the bottom 15 or not ranked and SDS 8.
At least on paper the Griz have the stronger teams.

The biggest challenges SDSU will have are Villanova and Idaho, Eck returning to Brookings could be one hell of a game.

None of that matters, since only one team can make it to the semis from the heavy quarter (USD, UND, MSU, NDSU all in same bracket). Griz run to the semis is pretty well set up, actually.

I’m sure SDS would rather have them on their side of the bracket.

Well, I typically operate under the assumption that by the time you get to the quarters, you’re gonna be playing talented teams. WORST case, we are playing Furman in the quarters, and one of USD/UND/MSU/NDSU in the Semi’s. To be the best you gotta beat the best…2nd round and quarters will be relatively easy…

I don’t disagree with what you are saying. I was just pointing out the disparity in how they aligned the teams in the bracket. Just another reason to get rid of the regionalization in the first rounds of the bracket.

SDSU earned it by being undefeated.
Good on them - let's play Griz FB in WaGriz and then take care of their undefeated season in the Natty

Home field throughout the playoffs. Griz have beat all ranked teams they have played even though many of the “experts” didn’t think they could. I don’t think anyone is going to come into Wa Griz and get a win the way this team is playing.

Sdsu deserves the easier bracket. They’re number 1 and undefeated. Win Games at home in WaGriz in November and December and none of the seeds matter. That’s what this program is about and always has been about.

We will be favorites and at home in every game to the Natty. We can’t ask for anything more than that.

Can we win 3 games at the best home field advantage in the country? That’s all that matters.

SDSU should have the easier path, and they do. In my mimd it’s clear the committee didn’t do UM any solids. So much for all the bubs claiming Kent would pull strings. If anything, it appears they did the opposite to avoid any appearance of inappropriateness

This bracket is fair but far from a gift. The Griz have a good shot at advancing into the championship. Yet like every year, to do so they will need to defeat increasingly better opponents each week.

Over on little brother’s website several are whining. No need for us to do the same. We’ve been here before. Simple scenario. Play like champions if you want to be one. Frankly, with this team I like our odds.
Go Griz

Oh, I couldnt agree more. Seems like they made every effort to put SDSU in the other bracket from EVERY other MVFC team except YSU…I hate regionalization and wish they’d seed all 24.

Who was the last four IN?

With their recent play, seems UC Davis belongs over one of those teams.

I love UNDSU returning to Bozo to destroy the bubz in the cold just like how the bi-sons’ dynasty began all those years ago. The circle is complete.
