MBBALL Griz Basketball, Downtown and the coaches

I cannot be the only person that has noticed the way our basketball players behave outside of the court. I personally believe a lot of this is rooted back to their coach who seemingly allows them to do whatever they want under a coaches supervision. Having a coach out at the bars with them is extremely strange! Multiple times this season heard about them being involved in fights and just getting off scotch free.

Don’t think Travis really cares what his players do. Get a DUI, no problem. Can’t imagine though that he’d go as far as allowing coach’s to go out and drink with players. But ya never know.

Maybe the problem was Coach Broome if you were going to the Missoula Bars at least during his tenure as an assistant, you were seeing him with the players of all ages!

troll alert - trying to stir up controversy
i mean i could name names or put out sources but that’s not my place im simply trying to put it out there that maybe if our players were a little more respectful outside of the campus property they’d be having a more successful season or have more people going to the empty games!

hence why i used was* and not is. They still run rampant doing what they want downtown, but with him he was out with those boys every weekend when he was a coach

I call bullshit on this entire bullshit thread. I’ve known Travis since the day he walked on campus to head the basketball program. Travis, Chris and Jay have poured their heart and soul into Griz basketball.
Grizjumps45 if you’re so certain that this behavior is rampant in the men’s basketball program than it’s your obligation and duty to bring these accusations to the AD and President Bodner. Better yet, provide proof of your accusations.

Who got a dui?
Dick was driving down the wrong side of the road. Smart kid for not blowing ( was able to get a decent plea) but come on who is leaving the bars at 2 am down the wrong side of the road in a town they were raised in might i add, without being drunk.

All i said was i hear multiple times this season about fights. And that they used to have a coach specifically, coach broome who is no longer apart of staff used to escort them around down town. I don’t see how these are bullshit claims. A specific incident i can speak to having witnessed myself was watching two basketball players follow a kid outside bodega in october of this year and jump him after he walked away from them inside the bar. Just because you don’t want to believe these things are happening doesn’t mean that they aren’t.

But i am also not gonna go to the ad because im not gonna ruin a kids career over a bar fight i watched. But i do think that there is a correlation with the discipline that so far this season is reflecting on the court. WE LOST TO TECH FOR CHRISTS SAKE

So he didn’t get a DUI, nor has anyone else on the team✅

I wasn’t the one that claimed dui. I was just aware of the situation and giving context. He was charged with a dui, it was also reduced to a reckless driving a common occurrence in first time dui cases. He hired a very experienced defense attorney in missoula who has a good rep at least within the DA’s office for getting these deals.

Bullshit...DeCuire has had very few off the court issues with his players. When he has, he's disciplined them.

He cut ties with Jordan Gregory got a DUI as a grad assistant. He cut ties with Broome as well.

Even if this crap is true, how many players have played under DeCuire? How many had legal troubles? It's a very small percentage.

I don't know Travis as well as I do Wayne.
However, I can confidently say, DeCuire is a man of principle and integrity.

Who cares if the players are going out downtown if they are winning games on the court? Losing to Tech is bad but not related in my opinion.

Yeah this is a bad post more out of frustration of just having watched a kid get jumped by those two kids and once again like i said im not gonna say names because like it doesn’t really but it definitely wasn’t a good look from an outside perspective. I can’t ever get behind a 2v1. frustration vent post lol might just take it down
