Griz are going to beat Sac St

I think it's funny how many move-up posters who like to mock by saying "we are just little ole Montana, we couldn't possibly compete in FBS", are now saying "we lost a game by a TD, so we can't possibly beat mighty SS".

How obtuse.

IF, IF, IF. IF you would slow your reading down, you might just pick up a few key words or phrases. Where the hell did the safety come from, Speedy? Gear down.

I don’t think it’s just the move up posters. Most of the stay where we are posters are convinced SS will destroy us.

Just my view.

Can't imagine they can run on the Griz. SS can pass too.

I don't see SS being able to score a bunch of points as they have so far this.

I know SS is good. I just don't see the Griz losing to them.

It’s called “blind homerism”.

Any objective fan should be able to see an avenue for losing, specifically to a top 5 team.

As a Sac State fan, I feel the Hornets are the better, more well rounded team. But that doesn’t mean they’ll win.

I can definitely see a path where Montana comes to Hornet Stadium and wins. That outcome would be disappointing, but not shocking.

While I believe the Hornets will win if they play well and mistake free, I recognize that Montana and their fans feels the same way.

We’ll see on Saturday which team plays better in terms of unforced errors and which team is able to force the other into more mistakes. That’s the team that will likely win.

I agree with you. However, a surprising number of egriz posters have little confidence in the team now, and aren't expressing any homerism.

UM is 6th in the nation in rushing D, giving up 72.6 per game. No way on giving up 250 yards.

If this is the game you wanna play, then Sac State is the only team in the FBS or FCS that hasn’t trailed at any point this season.

So “no way” they trail or lose to Montana, right?

Throw season statistics out the window with regard to predicting future outcomes. They mean nothing.

Sac State has the ability to rush for a lot of yards against MT and MT can lead and beat the Hornets, regardless if neither end up happening.

All the stats are relevant. No way one should throw out all stats. That's one of the main ways to evaluate and compare teams. Stats don't mean everything, but they mean a lot.

You are missing the point. The point was not that UM lost by a TD. The point is a lot of mover uppers who mock by saying "we are little ole Montana" are now saying "the Griz, who lost a game, can't possibly compete with SS".

Where are all the Griz fans who follow and support their team? Why are they hiding? Why don't they have confidence in their team? Do you think Alabama doesn't think it can get to the playoffs or national championship? Are they saying that they lost a game, and now they can't compete with any good team?

Yes. We shouldn't move up until we go 5 straight years without losing a game.

You too are missing the point. The point is that you guys who mock those of us who wonder if UM could compete well enough at the FBS level, and keep attendance high, are how some of the first ones to lose confidence in the team. You are saying "little ole MT can't compete with SS". I think that's funny.

Nothing obtuse about it at all.

Sac St hasn't played a team with a winning record this season. Colo St. has 1 win. CP, Utah Tech (1 win) and UNC. Only decent FCS win is UNI. Talk about not having been tested.

what he said

I have watched the last two Griz games and observed a team not prepared to play. Bobby acknowledged the loss was on the coaches in the post game interview. I expect he will have the team ready to play and they will be focused Satruday. It's a shame this seems to happen with his teams every year, that they need to drop a deuce or two to wake up to the fact they have to earn their ranking every week. If you read the folks on this board before Idaho State you would have thought the Griz were invincible, and they have played like they believed it too.

It's not "little ole Montana"....I think we CAN and SHOULD be able to compete with Sac State. And Utah State. And Colorado State, Boise State, Nevada, UNLV, AF, SJSU, SDSU, Hawaii, Wyoming....get my drift? Not winning THIS game <> in any way, shape or form, with somehow thinking that we can't and shouldn't compete with those schools. I have zero expectation that we'll win every game at this level. I have zero expectation we'll win every game at ANY level. But to equate anyone's belief that we are going to lose to Sac State with somehow thinking a moveup is a bad idea is comical.

I wasn't talking about winning the SS game. I pointing out that some of the mover-uppers, who like to mock, are completely inconsistent. Many of them are the ones worrying about the SS game.

So, to recap, the Griz have played one team with a winning record and lost that game. Sac has played zero games against teams with winning records, so we don't yet know if they can beat teams with a winning record.

Yes. This will be the 2nd team with a winning record the griz will have played, and will be the 1st that Sac will have played... One team will have a win over a team with a winning record Saturday night.

I have no idea to whom you are responding to, nor why. Are you denying the safety given up?

3 SS coaches — Kraig Paulson, Andy Thompson and Jeremy LaPan — are former UM players. When Thompson was at NAU, he dialed up some good defense against the Griz in one or more years.

I agree. There typically dozens of undefeated teams at the end of every regular season. Pathetic and embarrassing the Griz are one of the few teams who lose a game during the season.

He dialed up a pretty good one in Missoula last year, too.
