Griz All-Conference Projections

Did this last year after Cat-Griz. Am enjoying it a little more tonight than a year ago.

Here's my predictions for Griz players. Believe the list will be released on Tuesday afternoon.

First Teamers: Brock Coyle (LB), Jordan Tripp (LB), Alex Bienemann (DT), Ellis Henderson (WR), Danny Kistler Jr. (OT), Kjelby Oiland (C)

Second Teamers: JP Kanongata’a (LB), Zack Wagenmann (DE), Anthony Goodwin (CB), Jordan Johnson (QB), Jordan Canada (RB), Jamal Wilson (FB), Jamaal Jones (WR), William Poehls (OG), Stephen Shaw (P), Ellis Henderson (RS)

Honorable Mention: Tonga Takai (DT), Matt Hermanson (S), Bo Tully (S), Travon Van (RB), Clay Pierson (TE). I actually think Kidder deserves this list too, but not sure he will make it.

Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year: Vernon Adams; Big Sky Defensive Co-Players of the Year: Brad Daly/Brock Coyle. Coach of the Year: Beau Baldwin.

Thanks for posting. You would know better than I, but I would put Hermie on the second team. There may be more deserving d-ends, but Wags would be one of my first teamers. He's a great player. Probably not room for Kanongata on first team, but he's a terrific player and has had a great year. Poehls honorable mention? I suppose there's not room for Warren, but I would put Warren up with Tripp, Coyle, JJ, Henderson, Kistler for UM multiple MVP's. Warren, along with JJ and Henderson, have made alot of critical plays for UM this year. Pound for pound, and inch for inche, he is all-Big Sky.

I could see Hermie getting second team and Wags first. Those are possibilities, but I thought they were long shots for that so I put them where they are. Stubby, I considered Jones as HM too, but think he's earned a bump. I considered Warren for HM as well, but don't think the Griz will get three WR's. Also considered Poole for HM, but not sure we can land 4 o-lineman. But who knows. The coaches vote, so it may very well be much different than I see it.

You guys actually think hermanson is a top 4 safety in the big sky o.O... The big sky is way more stacked then you guys give it credit. Coyle and Tripp will make first team, maybe wagenman. No one else.

YEAH, Kistler was a first-team all-american last season, and still is

Sorry yah I forgot kistler... Although I personally think he's overrated as shit. He got burned for what I believe was the first sack of the game. Tbf it was daly but a "future nfl player" shouldn't get burned so bad

And I was a HUGE Kistler guy, even when he was a cub-bear-pealing-his-pecker freshmen... the big guys up front have definitely NOT improved over the past two years. Very disappointing.
Seriously, the only two first-teamers I see for the Griz who earned it, unless its an all Hype-team, are Coyle and Henderson. And Coyle will have some tough competition from that stud at Cal Poly.

Daly had a nice speed rush around him on that play and then caught JJ from behind, but I don't think that was recorded as a sack because JJ moved forward across the line of scrimmage. MSU's only sack came later in the game, I believe. Kistler seemed to adjust to Daly's speed after that.

1st team LBs are a crap shoot. There are many great LBS in the conference. I do believe Tripp and Coyle are each amongst the top 8 LBs in the conference. Each had great seasons. I believe one will be 1st team, the other 2nd team.

I will not be surprised if Hermanson makes 2nd team. He had one hell of a 2nd half to this season. I can honestly say, I am excited to see him play next season. Offensively, Kistler and Henderson are likely to be 1st team selections. Adams at QB, QB is also pretty loaded in the conference. Most of the qb's are back next season too.

I wish Van would not have been lost for a month. I look forward to see the combination of Canada, Vann, and Counts next year. I hope they are all healthy.
