Went to the game, the griz played okay. discuss here as the other one is littered with garbage

Gutsy win by the GRIZ in a game where neither team shot particularly well. Dlouhy was really on offensively and seemingly was the only GRIZ who could defend Karl consistently. A couple of guys who had off shooting games were Hasquet and Martin. In spite of this, both of these guys came up huge going down the stretch. Hasquet had a key offensive rebound and putback while Martin sank 2 critical free throws at the end. Chavez also had an incredibly energetic and productive spurt in the 2nd half and Kyle Sharp played well during a stint in the first half. I don't believe Strait sat more than a minute in the 2nd half and I am hopeful this won't be necessary very often. I think a lot of GRIZ games are going to be scraps of this nature. Once again, our only consistent outside threat was Dlouhy. To his credit, Ellis did hit a couple of 3s in the first half and did his normal fine job at the point. We really do miss the outside shooting and leadership of Criswell and Matthews.

After watching the game, I am suddenly nervous about our depth. Yes we played 11 guys, but not all 11 should be out there. If it wasn't for foul trouble, I don't think some of those kids would have been out there. Other than Strait, Dlouhy, Hasquet, and Ellis, none of the kids have much confidence. I would say they don't have ability, but that isn't true. They lack confidence in there ability and probably don't know their roles yet. Its early but I was surprised that the Griz were life and death to beat Boise at home. But a win is a win. Need to build on this and start gaining momentum and confidence.

I could agree with that. There was definitely a lack of leadership out there. I know there are probably some guys trying but it's a 2 part thing were the players and coaches have to buy into the leaders as well and I didn't see any glimpses of that. With more leadership, this team would have ore confidence.

To add to your list, i would say chavez looks pretty confident out there. The guy needs to play more, plain and simple. I use to like him becuase of the enrgy he brought on the floor but after watching the game yesterday, I really think he is just flat out talented and needs to be on the floor. And for some reason I feel like Hasquet still doesn't look confident or comfortable out there but he is really talented too and needs to get over it and start playing with some aggression and confidence.

As a team, they don't hustle, that is my biggest complaint. They didn't actually start playing till the last 5 minutes. They need to play with some urgency. Execute. Get in a stance. Go meet the rebound. Get on the floor. I don't see any of that.
