Griz 2-deep

Was also wondering about Janssen?
Looks like Caleb Lyons beat him out.

All 4 of our starting WR's are from the state of Washington.

I was surprised to see Lyons listed as the two behind Naccarato. Stitt said yesterday during his coach's radio show that Janssen would be the starter if Chase can't go.

Won't matter....as difficult a time as Nacarratto has had staying healthy, I'm guessing we'll get a full dose of Janssen fairly quickly.

Wilson and Bradley are awfully short for defensive tackles....
I'm less concerned with a short defensive tackle, than i would be with a lower weight. DT is all about strength, leverage, explosion and toughness, and the ability to get low on the offensive line and eating up double teams. Hopefully, our guys can do just that against a large Bison o line.

Is your second string LT really 245lbs? That has to be a typo right? I also noticed the RG and RT are a little smaller in that 270lb range, but maybe that is what Stitt wants with his up tempo offense, some guys who are a little more agile and will also have a little more stamina than your typical 300 lber.

Not a typo, though I wouldn't expect him to play even if Schmaing was injured. Stitt likes big o-linemen, has said so, and his incoming oline recruits are already in the 300 lb range, so the beef is coming back. Reese is a good tackle even at 270. He's a true soph and should end up being a four year starter. My biggest hope is that the o-line stays healthy and has a chance to gel throughout the season.

The Griz hired a new SID that died this summer after only a few weeks on the job. Needless to say, the department has been behind the 8 ball since then. These are not updated weights other than Ellis and Jamal Wilson. I recently spoke to our right tackle and he said he's put on either 15 or 20 pounds since last year. He was 270 as a true freshman. I also know that Sprunk listed as the backup center is around 270 - not 250 as noted on the two-deep.

I would guess that we would just move guys around if Schmaing went down like we did during training camp. Also this is the smallest O-line weight wise I ever remember. But the defense for NDSU is also not huge, d-ends are 240 and both new starters, tackles 285 and both experienced, outside linebackers about 218 and both new starters, and the safeties are both new with the starting free safety only 175 pounds.

He may be a bit small but very good at holding, and not getting caught. :thumb:

Most of our O-line recruits come in at 260lbs at least....I think the smallest incoming freshmen this year was at about 265 and ironically he may be the biggest get of the whole recruiting class, he had a few FBS offers, as well as a preferred walkon from Oregon...kids name is Trenton Mooney and is out of Missouri. I think he will take over for Haeg at LT next year. Speaking of Haeg he came in around that 245lb mark as a walkon and now is rated as the 6th best senior tackle coming out for the draft next year!

Wow. Given those two deeps I don't see any way in hell the griz aren't completely owned in the trenches Saturday. You'll be seeing the griz lines getting pushed around all day. Yes, if I'm wrong I'll come back here and admit it but I don't see how they're going to be able to hold their own.

What about that two-deep gives you concern besides for the incorrect weights?

Better yet poorgriz, just promise you won't come back at all. It seems you have a bobcat defense, or lack thereof, that should be of much greater concern to you than incorrect weights in the Griz 2-deep for NDSU (too bad the kitties avoided having to set their own 2-deep for NDSU).
