I was really impressed with how well Bryan Ellis handled the full court press last night. Granted most of his minutes were in garbage time, but still 17 minutes, no turnovers.
Yes it was an NAIA team, but the Griz regulars used a forward outlet player to break the press, while Ellis was able to dribble out of the pressure, and split the defenders even when they put 3 guys on him.
Having a point guard that can break the pressure alone leads to lots of easy buckets in the paint. It will be interesting to watch him progress this season, and see if he takes over the point for Martin at some point.
