Just because Stitt wanted his own AD, his relationship with TG apparently wasn't great, and some friction apparently developed at the season went on, doesn't mean TG doesn't get along with people. He does. His friends, most of his fellow coaches, and most supporters who got to know him love him. He is probably my wife's favorite coach that she got to know at UM.

You can paint this however you want PR. I don't really care. He was a Griz coach. He is no longer. He is now a Cat. Blame Stitt if it makes you feel better. He obviously did not impress him enough to keep his job. TG's tweet demonstrates his maturity, judgement and demeanor. I am glad your wife liked him and that you did for that matter. I like rooting for the Griz and I don't live in the past. I look to to the future and JS is in charge of the D now. Everyone seems to forget that TG had a learning curve. I like Stitt too, but you are right about TG. He's a great guy. I don't know anyone who knows him who doesn't like him (a lot). I suppose the tensions in Stitt's first season may caused some issues within the Griz staff, but it's not shocking that it didn't work out (given that Stitt had his own former AD with him and on the defensive staff). I'm fine with that. I don't fault Stitt or TG. Things happen.

When I met Choate and his family this summer, I liked Choate. Also, his family. Had his wife and kids out at my place at the lake. My impression is that Choate et al are going to take the Cats somewhere. I know that's their plan.

I agree with PR's last response. I think the tweet was classless, but TG is a good coach and a good person who I would have loved to play for. I think some people made their mind up on him early in his career in Missoula or his first year as DC. People fail to realize that there is a learning curve to coaching and there is especially one to coordinating. TG has done a great job improving himself and becoming better at his craft. He walked into a very challenging task in Bozeman with a very young defense. i think if he strings together a couple successful years there, he will have opportunities to move into a coordinating position at a higher level.

Interesting take. And completely wrong. In fact, I literally just spoke to someone in the AD's office TODAY who said the exact opposite. So, apparently people in high places felt differently.
