Just shows what getting in the tournament and winning a game can do. if MT did the same in consecutive years he would be coming here.

Negative. He was waiting for an offer from MT. He didn'tget one and took the one he did get. MslaCat reported this for some time now,

daaaamn. mslacat, why didn't we offer? er, maybe i know... 6'2" sg... i'm not so disappointed. had this confused w/ someone else. how good was he? no star recruit?

It really sounds like PLater liked Montana alot. He tripped to Portland state on May 11th and then went onto Long Beach St. on May 13th. I get the feeling Long Beach State trip was one he really enjoyed.
Of course this could mean two things. He got tired of waiting for the Griz to offer and looked into other options, or the Griz landed their third guy and told Plater they would not be offering. Either way after his trip to Long Beach I think the Griz would have had a fight on their hands to sign Plater.

It is kind of weird that two different sites have two different descriptions though:

The one below says that he is a 6' 0" point guard...
http://www.northwesthoops.com/oregon_2007.htm

...and this one says he is a 6' 2" shooting guard:
http://louisville.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=52319

At least they have the same hs, McKay (6A) mentioned.

Northwest hoops is a decent site but is run by one guy. Some of his rankings and info gets old some times becuase he simply can not get around to all of Washington and Oregon.

I think Plater is a shooting guard right now. He is a solid 6-2. He is a big time scorer, but needs to work on a few other areas, BUT that is what his high school coach wanted him to do. This spring he has been putting up HUGE scoring numbers on the AAU circuit on a so so team There have been a lot of 6-2 player with a lot less talent than Plater that have gone on to be All-Conference players in the Big Sky. How do you measure a kids heart?

Good call. My only concern is that we have so many of these in-between kids. We need a solid two.
