Greatest games in Wa-Griz so far

"How about Delaware Blue Hens, little help here on that date. 48-49 I believe, couldn't stop the run, they couldn't stop the air attack, last guy with the ball wins. Damn"

Delaware won on the last play with a PASS!

1993 - heartbreaking way to end the season, missed PAT

The guy I'd be curious of his thoughts on the greatest in Wa Griz would be Dave Guffey... wonder if someone could get him over here to share his opinion.

I have to disagree. #1 is Boise at MT in 1995. No one thought the Griz would win but Dickenson killed them and Crebo hurt them. It was my funnest game at Wa Griz ever. 1995 was a special year.

This. Top 5 at least

BSU was moving up the next year.

We gave them a sendoff for the ages.

I remember Pokey Allen's quote after that game. Something about being glad he never had to play in Missoula again.

I am always partial to the first home game I ever got to attend in WA Griz. 1995 vs Boise St. Yes a blowout of epic proportions but hte last time we played Boise in the big sky and they had been bragging like crazy about how they were too good for the big sky and that was why they were moving up. I loved seeing DD hang a huge win on them. It is what cemented me as a fan for the rest of my life win or lose.
09 App State is number 1 for me, but my first game will always be up there too. 1995 vs Stephen F Austin in the blizzard when I was very young. Crazy beatdown with Dickenson going nuts but it made me a fan for the rest of my life.

Of the ones I've attended:

2009 App St.
2015 NDSU
2009 SDSU
2000 App St.
2004 Sam Houston State
My first two are nearly a draw, but the stakes were bigger in the App St. game with a trip to the championship on the line. However, I think our win last Saturday will end up being a huge win in terms of the program and the Griz' return to the top. The fact that we got two new commits within 24 hrs is telling in the short term. We haven't really had a big time win in awhile before Saturday. Both games were won in the final seconds, one on an offensive drive, one on a defensive stop.

Doesn't seem like the 01 season is getting enough love. Two double-OT thrillers and some awesome playoff games that year, including the UNI beat down.

Poor UNI. How many times did they make this list?

Surprised to see the 2001 game against EWU left off here.

First big test of the eventual champs - and EWU cameback late.

Eags had a chance to win the game with a FG and it goes wide right before Etu Molden, who was made for OT catches wins the game 29-26.

The Missoulian had a perfect image to grace the sports page the next day - Molden in the endzone with the ball and the entire stadium in the background with their hands in the air. The headline read "Flair for the Dramatic."

Few on this list are before I could get my grubby little hands on tix, but I remember watching some on TV and turning up Mick.. 2000 Sac St it was Homecoming I think, My little brother and I LOST OUR MINDS when DP took that thing to the house. DP was 1 of the counselors at NYSP that previous summer so we felt like we knew a Megastar. We practiced picking off a pitch in the backyard the rest of the day

2009 App St, The Blizzard. Still have those tix on my wall
2015 NDSU, The New Era, Everything leading up to that game, Stitts Offence, ESPN, #1 4 time defending Champs
2009 SDSU, The Comeback. Folks around us never came back after Half and I was bouncing all over the place
2008 MSU, The Throwbacks. The 1st Brawl I got to attend in person. That was the last game I ever got to go to with my Grampa and now I have those very same season tickets
2007 EWU, Bags Catch, Bagley caught that right in front of us. It is seared into my minds eye

1996 Cal Poly, My 1st, ABSOLUTELY nothing memorable about this one a 43-0 rout but my 1st game in WaGriz, right under the speaker in the south endzone

There have been many good ones, Blocked Kicks, Fumbles, Pick 6's, Blowouts and Squeakers..

The honorable mention list should include the 2006 U Mass semifinals. That was the first espn game under the lights and even though we lost 19-17 it was an amazing game.

I thought about that game and almost added it to Brint's list, but the finish (and the damned quarterback) kept me from adding.

I have to add to the discussion The Brawl of 1998. Close game the whole way. Bobcats take a lead late into the 4th. Dallas Neil catches a pass and dives to the pylon at the southeast corner of the field for the game winner right in from of me and my two buddies standing there in the front row.... Needless to say we went ape-shit crazy!!!!!
