Great win for your Griz yesterday...

BC fan here, your team played some great ball yesterday... the next game should be great. I picked you to beat Nevada because my friend from Montana said you were legit. Nice win!

BC's perimeter defense is a problem, and typically, we don't shoot fouls well (yesterday was a strange exception - if you told me our season came down to two shots at the line, down two in an OT, I'd have told you it's over). Not sure how the team will respond, but typically, if the fire gets lit under their butts, they play well. We'll see... we haven't gone past the second round in a long time, losing to cinderella UW-Mil last year, runner up Ga Tech, final four Texas, elite eight USC, and on, and on, it seems whatever team beats us makes a long run. Hopefully this is the year we break the trend.

Incidentally, I love Montana. I've been to your state a load of times to ski, hike, camp, drive, etc. Awesome place. Happy St Patricks day to everyone in Butte!

Here's hoping for a good, tough game on Saturday.

Tonto, back atcha on this Irish day. Here's hopeing both teams show up, play their best, and the best wins. I almost puked in my own living room yesterday, probably shouldn't eat tomorrow. Bunch of beers today however. Thanks for posting. :thumb:

Tonto...thanks for the post. Here's to a great game tomorrow. And the party has already started here in Butte...

UH OH

GO GRIZ!!

Hope the best team doesn't win. I hope the Griz win. Sorry, but if we beat BC it will be a big upset. An upset we are capable of pulling off, though.

Tonto, thanks for the great post. Your comment about the FTs in the first OT was kind of funny, because from watching the game, it almost appeared the BC players thought the same thing. I'm not sure who the player was back defending behind the arc, but he couldn't even WATCH the FTs, and you could just see visible tension in his body language. And when he head the second swish through, you could just sense the relief.

It will be a huge challenge for the Griz tomorrow. If we shoot well, we've got a chance. But if your defense steps up, it's going to be very tough to compete.

As Greg Gumbel would say...here's a live look-in from the M & M.

Honestly, I dont know what to expect from this BC team. The last few times in the tourney, we either dodged a bullet or got unceremoniously dumped. Yesterday the kids had to give it everything they had to pull it out, and they did - so I have no expectations. Yesterday was the first time all year I've gotten to watch the Griz play, and it's no accident or fluke that your team is here or that you beat Nevada. If BC doesn't show up and give it everything they've got, they will lose to Montana. End of story. We aren't a team that can out-athlete anyone on sheer talent or ability alone.

Yes, we are a big program from a power conference, bla bla, but most of our kids were totally overlooked out of high school. Our coach is not a money-hungry hair-slicked-back spaz during games, and he recruits diamonds in the rough that he likes and thinks will fit his style. So in this respect, we aren't really out after McD's all americans or anything like that - we recruit more like a mid-major school with an eye towards building teams instead of stockpiling talent. This may change now that we're in the ACC, but who knows.

Anyway, I obviously hope BC wins, but if not, I'll be pulling for you guys the rest of the way. Enjoy your green beer!

Enjoy the ballgame tomorrow Tonto. And thanks for the sporting posts. It's always great hearing from opponents.
