Great Grizzly Defenses!

If your definition of losing the game is which team is on the field last then I guess the D lost the game. If your definition of who lost the game is which half of the team played like complete shit for 4 quarters then anyone with a brainstem knows it's the O that played like shit and lost that game. I guess, using GArrizlies logic, if somehow UNI had scored on that last drive the D would have lost that game too.

My definition of losing a game depends on who has more points at the end. It's a team effort. The O was horrid that day and the D couldn't make a tackle when it mattered most. Both contributed to the loss. You seem to want to lump more fault on the O, apparently just like last years D. I prefer the approach this years team is taking in regard to stressing team unity.
How long are you guys going to carry the TG torch? Do you seriously miss the bendoverandtakeit D? Especially vs CP?

I actually thought last year was about as good as I've seen the Griz' D play against the triple-option, Poly or anybody else. People love to blast Ty and the Griz' D for that last drive, but, the fact is, they forced Cal Poly to line up and kick a 50-yard FG on a colder than normal September night, and in a pretty good rain. The kid made the kick of his life as time expired. Hats off to him. With that exact same drive, in the same conditions, forcing a 50-yard FG as time expires, the Griz probably win 9 out of 10 times. Like I said, the kid from Poly, that will probably be the biggest play of his entire life. Good for him. But a miracle kick doesn't mean the Griz' D played poorly or Ty called a bad game.
"Forced"? You said "force" twice. The D didn't force a long field goal. That would imply they could stop CP.
The clock was the only thing that "forced" CP to take a long FG

Back to OP. Great Griz Ds. I was not a fan of Paulsen and his clone TG. I will take Breske/Semore any day

You are a true football idiot. I feel sorry for you.

The Griz D stopped CP all day long, including, almost, on the last 37 yard drive in 11 plays. Jeez, learn something about the game before you post your dumb stuff.

Every post I recall you making has been wrong or dumb.

My dream day is to meet all of you posters who don't have a clue about football, and who keep saying stupid stuff, so I could look you in the eye, and either feel sorry for you or laugh at you. Let me know if you want to get together for lunch. I'll buy.

I shook Woody Hayes hand after the 69 championship and I remember he looked me in the eye but he said nice things, although no mention of lunch.

I met Woody Hayes that same year. He punched me. I was a baby at the time.

I have NEVER been a fan of Gregorak. In fact, I'm thrilled he's gone and I love what Semore has done and will probably do in the future. But, this isn't about Gregorak. It's about ONE game where the Defense wholly outplayed the offense and anybody with a brainstem can watch that game and KNOW that the offense lost that game for us. The defense held CP to fewer points than ANY OTHER TEAM THEY PLAYED last year. Held them under their season average for YPC and YPG. Held them to 20 points. Had us in position to win with the lead AND the ball with less than 3 minutes to play. Our offense put up 17 points against a D that gave up, in succession after the Montana game, 35, 34, 45, 26, 42, 38, 54, 14, 38, and 54 points. ONE team on CP's schedule scored fewer points than our offense. ONE...Suck State. It's really not that complicated ...was the defense last year fatally flawed? Sure...but in THAT game, anyone who puts THAT loss on the D is (IMHO) borderline retarded.

Again, using YOUR logic, if the D had allowed a score on UNI's final drive and we'd lost 21-20, you'd blame THAT loss on the D as well. Brilliant logic, Einstein.

Can't argue with that, unless you are missing a stem.

The D made lots of tackles and defended passes on the last drive. A 37 yard drive in 11 plays, I believe. Anyone who thinks the D caused the loss, by focusing on anything including the last drive, doesn't have a clue about the game of football, in my view.

I won't say the D lost the game, but they had a chance to win the game and didn't.

I'm not putting the loss on the D, you're the one trying to put it on the O and divide the team, just like Traitorak, even tho the D also failed to seal the deal. There is no stat that supports TG's D vs CP. They consistently walked over the BOATI defense. Average of 440 yards is not good, I don't care how you paint it. Like I said, it was an absolute miracle that prevented him from going 0-3 vs CP. let that sink in for a minute, and then ask yourself, why the fuck am I defending that D strategy?
And, no, I would not put a loss vs UNI on the D, even if they had the last chance to win the game and blew it. It's a team effort--a concept that lead to you buddy being sent down the road
