Great Comeback and Team Win - Wortham, Wortham, Wortham

Wortham:

2-2 passing for 49 yards and 1 TD. Both throws under big pressure.

7-41 rushing, 5.9 per carry, 2 TD's.

6 receptions for 124, 20.7 per catch.

3 KO returns, averaging 27.3 per return.

FCS Player of the Week? An All-American performance.
It was nice of Gillman to show up today

16 carries for 48 yards with a TD (average of 3 yards per carry)
4 catches for 33 yards and a TD (average of 8.3 yards per catch)

81 all purpose yards and 2 TDs is a solid night for any player, I think it's just the fact we're so spoiled and used to him putting up video game numbers.

And he stepped up in crunch time.

The Griz don't win the game without Gillman or Wortham.

Rausch had 11 tackles. Tolbert and Wilkinson each had 7.

ISU had 12 yards of return yardage. Morrison averaged 47 per punt.

The D coaches seemed to shift the D scheme a bit fairly early in the game, and then more at halftime. The D much better in the second half. The Griz miss Loud. I see that no. 25, a Beaner, was playing corner much of the second half. I saw no. 92 Seumolo playing.

Gillman was terrific. Ran hard and got some tough yardage. 16-48. Scored a rushing and pass TD. 4 receptions for 33 yards. He had some tremendous finishes at the end of plays. He's more than a stud. He couldn't be tougher.
Spot on. The armchair qb says Gillman didnt do much. The reality is he ran very hard and picked up some critical yards in the pass game.

Weird game from him. Didn't look very good but also wasn't given any room to run. His game is all about pounding the rock until he finds the big play and pops one. Hard to do that when you're in a shootout and basically have to keep scoring. He'll be back.

He balled out! What a great pickup he’s turning out to be. Love all the ways the coaches are getting him involved in the game.

Virtually every time Eli was handed the ball he was met at the line of scrimmage, or in the backfield. Hard to get going when our line gave him no holes

Beaner looks like the real deal. He’s gonna be a good one.
I seemed to see less blitzing (or sending the house) in the 2nd half…put more guys in coverage, causing Cooke some issues it appeared.

Kind of hard when the hot read was quick slant to the vacating blitzer all night and we kept getting burned. We did better when we brought pressure straight up the middle with Wing or Tolbert in the opposite A gap from the nose giving a straight line to Cook and rushing 5 and dropping 6 in coverage. Wish we would have dropped the DE’s off to the vacating blitzer more as I think those slants could have led to a turnover.

ISU was determined to shut down Gillman, and did so for a big part of the game. Wortham having a huge game seems related.
Balance is a great thing. Offense has definite pick your poison vibes this year (assuming the O-line doesn't get their butts handed to them).
