Great call out to the Griz...

Not sure how exactly to share but do agree it's a nice piece of unsolicited PR...
Totally agree. I always enjoy hearing these things from people who have that kind of experience with the larger picture of college football reacting to the stadium when they come to Missoula and see it in person for the first time.
One of the best was the comparisons Eddie George made to the NFL stadiums like Baltimore. We can't fill 100k seats in Missoula, but we have the passion to bring that kind of impression to people that come in to feel like it's bigger than is.
Incidentally, Ace was reporting from the sideline on the radio and said the decibel meter was approaching 100 very early in the game, so shout out to those in the stands on Saturday night!

Must have been before kickoff because 100 is almost a whisper for Washington-Grizzly stadium 😂. It certainly got louder than 100 during the game haha.

Too bad we did not upper-deck the entire East side when we had the chance--and it was under consideration. Whatever the cost back then, it'd be seen as a huge bargain today with construction costs other-worldly.
I seem to remember something about the soil testing indicating that it wouldn't support the weight....

Yeah, I actually thought the beginning of the game was the loudest. After half you could tell most people were pretty tuned and it seemed to quiet down a lot.

That’s rough. Not much you can do unless you go all the way to bedrock. I assume Missoula in general would have that problem being built on an ancient lake bed and all the alluvial deposits from the Clark Fork. I’d love to see what the hole report says (I used to be a driller).

Not the east side. The hang up with the Majestic Plaza seating that didn't get built was the funding. The Univeristy offered the students more seating in the upper deck than the students currently get. I believe there was an athletic fee increase in there somehwere. The UM athletic fee at the time was much lower than the MSU fee and might still be.
But there was a hook: the current student seating (120,119) would be converted to a reserved seating section. So, new reserved seating revenue from an section that's never had any.

The students, who had already been removed from the arena side basketball seating at Dahlberg, rejected the proposal.
