Easier said than done. I agree with Stitt in promoting UM's tradition and ability to put guys into the NFL over the past 10 years as a great experience and a good situation for a kid to stay his senior year. But if Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh come calling....good luck.

To note, Carson Wentz getting picked 2nd in the draft helps combat the FCS transfer rule a lot more than people think. Isn't this conversation mostly about the kid having a better shot in the NFL?

I just dont see a kid leaving Montana to play for a team like Oregon or Michigan. His chances of making it to the nfl are just as good finishing out his eligibility here at Montana than any where else..

Shooter is a perfect example: Tore up the BSC. Moves on the Oregon. Tears it up there (when healthy). Tears up TCU's defense in the first half of the Alamo Bowl---then we saw how valuable he was to the Duck offense when he went down with a concussion....then he tore up the all-star game he played in....


Still couldn't get drafted.

Maybe at most other FCS schools athletes need to transfer to bigger schools for a shot at the NFL. At Montana, not so much.

Montana has built a pipeline to the NFL. Many players have a better shot at making it to the NFL through Montana than they will elsewhere.

If we ever manage to recruit a player that Alabama or Michigan eventually become interested in...I'd be glad to have him for a few years and the wish him well.

Gotta agree. No disrespect to the other schools but there's no team in the BSC that compares to Montana's pride and tradition. There's deffenetly no team that can even come close to matching the amount of players we've put in the NFL. Hell, there's many FBS teams that can't match us in those areas.

The only reason Russell Wilson is playing football is that he has big hands. Nice guy though, taking care of someone else's kid.
