I'm still gonna stay optimistic and hope that Bobby is the one who gets hired. I'd rather have him, a guy who lives and breathes Griz football than a D2 coach without the love for the Griz.

The same bobby who said "see you later chumps (after NEVER winning the NC)" and leaving for the FBS.
If we followed your line of thinking we would have never hired Papa Bear, worked out well for him.

So you're going to hold it against Bobby for making a career move that more than doubled his salary? I'm sure you'd be loyal and never make that kind of a career move if you were in his shoes. We'd be lucky to get him back!

If you truly loved the GRIZ you would be a Robin Selvig.

So you would like Delaney to stay another 25 years.....

Who should UM be interviewing? Educate us.

It is not about who they interview, it will be about who they actually find to take the job...

So . . . again, who would be a better hire than the current rumored candidates?

He wont commit to anyone so he can save his bitching for later. Smart move.
John Edwards; Cliff would cover his salary.

Maybe,,,, by then he might develop into a pretty good HC.

If the final 3 are really Hauck, Pease and Stitt...I would say that those are 3 pretty damn good someones....to think there isn't interest in the Montana job is just foolish...for any coach that wants a huge fan base, great facilities, and good exsposure and pressure to win, you cant beat it in the FCS!
Unfortunately that appears to be a big "if."

I think Bobby does love the GRIZ and having now tried the FBS thing would stay around longer than any of the other candidates.

Bob does NOT LOVE the Griz or UM!!! He does what is best in his self interest...nothing more, nothing less. No matter what he says, the fruit is what you judge him on. The fact that he robbed the coaching staff, and recruits when he left ROUND 1 tells you all you need to know of this man.

He left UM for the money...IF he comes back...there is something in it for him, but it isn't a deep and abiding love for Monte, all things griz, or the uni! It's just the way it is!

That's NOT the word I would use...

IMHO I don't think it would be a bad hire to bring Hauck back. All he did was win here. Things were semi stagnant at times, but we were always competitive, some years at the highest level. If Hauck wants to come back, my guess is that he wants to finish what he tried to do in his first run and that's to win the big one. Who the hell is going to complain about getting a coach that bleeds maroon and silver and wants a championship every year?

He's had time away, competed at the next level, and has probably learned a thing or two, regardless of how successful UNLV was, and they'll never be successful. What kind of decent parent would send their kid to Las Vegas for college? Missoula was crazy enough for me.

Maybe Hauck recruited some of the kids that got into trouble, but they weren't in that much trouble when he was coaching here.

Some have thought it and others are stating it and it goes like this...Engstrom is the root cause for all of the slow talking slow walking slow coaching and just plain slowing.

UM's Griz football coach has a large green glob hanging all over it. What is it? Royce Engstrom!

A few good coaches are not interested. Period.

Terrified? Distraught? Distressed?

If I were a cat fan I wouldn't want Hauck to come back as coach of the Griz either. You guys already have enough to worry about with Kramer back in the league. Only a matter of time before he starts making Ron Ash his bitch :(

They couldn't even muster a winning record against Delaney. As long as Ash is around they'll have more than enough to worry about in the (subpar) Big Sky.

Hauck wouldn't see nearly the same success he had last time at UM, due to the fact that things have changed significalty in the Big Sky. Not only have we expanded to 13 teams, but many of those teams have gotten significantly better. All that being said, out of all the realistic candidates I saw getting thrown out there, here is the order in which they make me nervous as a Cat fan - (Baldwin scared the **** out of me. Stitts, not so much.)

Baldwin
Hauck
Pease
Stitts

Stitts in intriguing in that he COULD be that guy that comes in and truly does something innovative and takes the Big Sky by storm, however I don't think you would see the results of that for a few years, which I know is extremely painful for an impatient griz nation.

EVERY honest MSU fan I talk to says they hope UM does not hire Hauck back because he will have the Griz back on top of the Big Sky. My bad feeling is, those MSU fans will get their wish. Hauck won't be the new/old head coach of the Griz.

If what your saying is true then I have to believe Engstrom is very involved and Haslem is nothing more than a toady. Hire Stitt and wait 2-3 years for results(maybe). cat fans rejoice. Griz fans foot the bill.
