LadyGriz Good Write-Up on Lady Griz Incoming Transfers

Here you go:

While I'm excited about the new recruits (love all the Minnesota Fury veterans) and eagerly await the new season, I'm disappointed that we don't seem to have that lanky, long-armed, athletic rebounder. A rebounder that gives us 10+ per game. We need another Dani Bartsch.

Appears that Ava Cossett of Maple Grove played against Rae Ehrman of Eden Prairie in some of their games in Minnesota high school action. Both Maple Grove and Eden Prairie are in the same ten team 4A MSHSL as Hopkins high school.

Was this girl from St. Thomas on anyone’s radar?
Not on my radar.

Hopkins has been a powerhouse in the biggest class (4A) of girls basketball in Minnesota along with Minnetonka. Benilde St. Margaret's and Providence Academy have been the powerhouses over the last 3-4 years in the smaller (3A and 2A) classes. However, AAU basketball is where the competition really heats up. Minnesota Fury is a well-respected and very competitive AAU girls basketball program in Minnesota and competes against high-level AAU girls basketball talent. Ava, Rae, Jocelyn, and Zoey are all Minnesota Fury alumni.

This article doesn't mention Maggie Hutka. Maybe because she officially has only one year of eligibility left, I don't know, or the writer made an omission. If she gets another year, will not likely know until the end of next season. I am not one to count the chickens before they hatch, and you never know what the NCAA will do even though she may deserve another year. But next year's roster is up and she is a senior. You all could skip the Jr(?) part.

Most likely because Maggie Hutka joined the team in January so she is not technically a "new" addition.

Yes, technically not a new addition, but she was only able to join for practice only in January and wasn't on the roster until now for the next coming season. So I guess you can say, untechnically, she is a new addition since there will be nobody that have seen her play for the Lady Griz, She is a "new" addition next season.

Noticed that too, tallest players are Waddy and Adria. Looks like we have an assortment of 6 footers who may add some depth? Seems we are guard heavy, a trend for the LG. I sure would like to see some power house "Bigs" though! Adria and Alex hopefully can carry out depth around the hoop, both ends of the court. Here is the current roster from GoGriz: https://gogriz.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster

Because this article does mention her, from December. She wasn't part "incoming group of five".

Harris doesn't want some slow tall/bigger gal down low. He wants to spread it out and play fast so he is setting up the roster in that exact way. Dani was only about 6 foot herself

He's actually six-five, with the afro, six-nine...gritty kid from the streets of Harlem!
