Good Interview with McDowell

This is why transparency is important. You can’t keep everything behind closed doors all the time. A little communication to the fanbase in certain situations would really limit the rumor mill. Trying to control every narrative isn’t always helpful especially to those who don’t have a background in public relations.

I’m glad Sammy had him on and it was good to hear from him in his own words. Wish we could have heard it a year ago.

I'm glad we got to hear it, but I completely disagree.

Clif or any other player in a similar situation has zero obligation to let anyone know any of this stuff. It is not his fault people started rumors and came to their own wrong conclusions.
 
It was not about family being sick that the he jumped ship, it was about Cliff trying to play pro ball. If it was about family he would not be coming to Missoula for pro day he would be working to help his family. You goody two shoes are disgusting.

I should have been more clear. I’m glad we got to hear from him now, and he doesn’t owe us anything. Hearing from him a year ago would have shut down a lot of the crap we saw over the last year.

I think the way the program keeps everything lock and key actually creates a lot more problems. Football coaches don’t make good PR reps.

Sure, I get that, but I also don't expect the coaches to talk about this, either. It's incredibly personal to Clif, and I wouldn't want to hear it from anyone other than him.

Like what would you have preferred the coaches say about this scenario other than just keeping quiet about it and letting personal matters be personal?

If it was about trying to play pro ball I also have no issue with that. But what makes you think that he is lying about his family. I tend to think even as new member to the goody two shoes club that he is telling the truth about his family. I know I have made quite a few professional decisions based on family. So yea I 100% believe him.

I am not saying he lied about his family. He left the Griz for the FBS. He then went to Temple. Temple was not near his family and something did not work out there. He did not leave Temple for his family and he NEVER said he did. Listen close.

He left to try to go to FBS to hopefully secure more money that he could then send to his sick relatives. Imagine hating on a kid trying to take care of his family. And he has shown nothing but love to Montana since he left and continues to represent our program in a positive light. Quit commenting clown

No player has an obligation to be transparent about what's happening in their personal life. Especially, just to please some fans.

He gave it his all here and took us to the championship game. Can't ask for much else.
