Good, Bad, Ugly - Weber St

Classic Bobby ball. Fast start, relatively big lead, start subbing early, lose the momentum/rhythm, struggle to get it back, and the score ends up closer than any fan really wants.

I seriously think we could have put 50+ on them if we wanted to. But you wouldn’t have seen Jensen, Flowers, Fonoti, Gentry, Beaner brothers, etc., etc. And honestly, I think this is the better way. The end score doesn’t matter. A win is a win. We’re 9-0 and in the 2 slot.
Agreed but like I told my wife, just once I’d like for us to beat the crap out of a team we should, by every measure available, beat the crap out of lol

Bohanon had all of his catches in first half. On his 2 long catches, the defender was looking in the backfield and just let him run by him.

The interview thing was ridiculous.

Gillman continues to be a beast.

Way too many drops.

Those 2 early offsides penalties on successive plays were bad. 2 guys on one play.

Was that a hold on us on the long return?

Didn’t the receiver run into our defender/corner on the early PI?

Morrison’s missed short FG.

Weber has a ton of injuries.

Bad or Ugly: Ah Yat had three passes batted down at the line. Is Ah Yat still eyeing who he is going to throw to or was the Weber D line that tall that they could bat the ball down OR is the O line not pushing around the D line enough?

I’m willing to bet it ends up being a coaching point for Ah Yat this week. Always need something to improve on!

One “criticism” I have of Ah Yat is that this seems to happen too often. Good observation.

To a damn BSC bureaucrat who had nothing worthwhile to say.

While I love the Bender/Tripp team, Jordan went overboard claiming over and over how tough the BSC conference was top to bottom, no easy weeks. Even if I agreed with him it was too much.
It’s just not true, especially this year. The big sky seems pretty down this year.

I thought classic Bobby ball was slow start, adjustments at halftime, and blowouts in the second half

Meh. I’d much rather get the depth guys some meaningful PT and win by 21 than have Gillman getting carries in the 4th winning by 55 (ahem, Adam Jones, anyone?)
Sure and I totally agree with that. But I’m talking about my blood pressure man!!! LOL

Keep in mind UM started to play the reserves in the middle of the 2 quarter and used 3 quarterbacks in the game...

The offsides penalties were my only concern
what this dude said. i was at the game, and i've never seen as much rotation (defense, primarily) as was on display this weekend. to me, it looked like we were bringing in our 2nd (and some cases our 3rd) stringers in the first quarter. not complaining. this will pay off. we may not be beating teams by 60 playing our starters until the 4th quarter, but those 2nd and 3rd stringers are starting to look like they belong. also, in my eyes, the most promising o-line performance i've seen this year.
