Good, Bad, Ugly - UND

They literally haven’t played anyone. They have been favored by 13, 24, and 28 in their 3 games. Let’s wait to see them play a team who also plays football.
They won’t have a competitive game until October 12th. Next week they play Mercyhurst. Wow that will be a tough one..😎

Bad: TD’s came on a broken pass play, a busted run play and a trick WR end around play, totaling 128 yards. Other than those three plays, our offense generated (wait for it)…177 yards of offense the entire rest of the game, in 56 plays. An average of 3.16 yards per play. UM had ONE “sustained” drive of 11 plays, that ended in a FG.

Ugly: BOTH lines were getting dominated. UND’s offensive line was getting a 3-5 yard push, which made me wonder why they EVER passed…they ran it down our throats in the 2nd half. OUR offensive line was on skates and Ah Yat was running for his life most the time during the inexplicable shift to a pass-happy offense.

Ugly: UM ran 18 offensive plays in the 2nd half. UND ran 47. FORTY SEVEN!!!

Horribly Ugly: UM had a TOTAL of 34 yards of offense in the 2nd half. UND had 241, with scoring drives of 10, 5, 16 and 14 plays. UM’s TOP in 2nd half? 5:23.

One more thing: The EXACT moment that momentum changed was when UND stopped us on 4th & short at the 49 yard line early in the 2nd quarter. We literally did NOTHING after that.
Ugliest; QB could not get a first down in the 2nd half to give the D a blow. The D cannot play the whole game and win.

Good:
- scoring 21 points in the first quarter
- averaging 6.5 yards a carry in the first half
- taking a 24-7 lead into the locker room
- seeing Riley Wilson back

Bad:
- completely abandoning your run game in the second half, up 17, averaging 6.5 ypc, leading to 3 straight 3 and outs
- abysmal play calling by the OC in this situation
- I think our defense looks out of place and overmatched
- UND had the ball 25 out of 30 mins the 2nd half. Insane.

Ugly:
- the entire 2nd half on both sides of the ball
NOT enough attention is being paid to that repulsive excuse of a defense the Griz have put on the field the last two weeks.

I will throw my 2 cents in for this:
1) For the love of all that is good and pure, wrap up when tackling...do not do the stupid arm tackle...it does not work
2) Typical Griz style for the first few games, plain vanilla offensive plays except for one play in the first quarter. UND was loading the box and rushing the QB...Do several jet sweeps. They would have worked great and put the defense on their heels. The Griz have the horses to do jet sweeps.
3) On a third and 1 or fourth and 1, do some big boy football with either a pro set or wishbone formation...it is made for just more than a goal line score.
4) Gillman did fantastic in the 1st quarter. Use that man to punish the opposing defense. He was last year's Jerry Rice Award winner for a reason. Use him extensively!!!!!

I was extrememy happy for the defense in the fourth quarter, after being on the field the majority of the second half, did a fantastic goal line stance. Good Job!!!!!!

Secondary needs a lot of work. Stupid pass interference penalties.
Whoever gave you $.02 for that overpaid.

i will start by asking do you ever get sick of being the loudest and dumbest person in the room?

1) i am almost positive the young men on a full scholarship starting for the FCS runner ups dont practice arm tackling.. but they play against 11 other guys that might have a say in how that works out for them?

2) "do several jet sweeps"?? your entire offense cant be doing several jet sweeps.. it is a motion into an outside run play, there is several different ways to get there. lol but judging by the sound of your number 3.. you havent experienced much football since 1952..

3) PRO SET OR THE WISHBONE? again.. is it 1952? how many teams have you seen line up in the wishbone in the last two decades? that is such a rare occurrence, football is a numbers game in almost every single way, so would you rather have 11 on 11 in the box or space out the defense so they cant stack the box? if the wishbone worked, you would see it all the time, if you want to watch the wish bone, go watch one of the military academies who have limited recruiting, you dork.

4) Gillman is a sophomore, yes he played great. but we have 4 backs who can legit play, why would we not keep fresh legs on our guys when we have that ability?

you just get on here and talk out of your ass all week. the wishbone lmfao give me a damn break.

And if you take out Gillman's long run, Ostmo got more yards per carry. Gillman would have been 7-20 vs Ostmo was 8-47 (over 5 yards per carry deserves touches)

It’s Ostmos last year. We know he’s a hard runner. There’s no reason we can’t run the ball 20 times a game and still not burn any of the 3 running backs out before the end of season
