Good:
- scoring 21 points in the first quarter
- averaging 6.5 yards a carry in the first half
- taking a 24-7 lead into the locker room
- seeing Riley Wilson back

Bad:
- completely abandoning your run game in the second half, up 17, averaging 6.5 ypc, leading to 3 straight 3 and outs
- abysmal play calling by the OC in this situation
- I think our defense looks out of place and overmatched
- UND had the ball 25 out of 30 mins the 2nd half. Insane.

Ugly:
- the entire 2nd half on both sides of the ball

Hard for me to wrap my brain around that 2nd half. Credit to UND for not packing it in at halftime and maybe they are better than people think. Oh well it’s in the rear view mirror now. Everybody, me included, said the sky was falling last year after the NAU game. I’ve learned my lesson.

I will throw my 2 cents in for this:
1) For the love of all that is good and pure, wrap up when tackling...do not do the stupid arm tackle...it does not work
2) Typical Griz style for the first few games, plain vanilla offensive plays except for one play in the first quarter. UND was loading the box and rushing the QB...Do several jet sweeps. They would have worked great and put the defense on their heels. The Griz have the horses to do jet sweeps.
3) On a third and 1 or fourth and 1, do some big boy football with either a pro set or wishbone formation...it is made for just more than a goal line score.
4) Gillman did fantastic in the 1st quarter. Use that man to punish the opposing defense. He was last year's Jerry Rice Award winner for a reason. Use him extensively!!!!!

I was extrememy happy for the defense in the fourth quarter, after being on the field the majority of the second half, did a fantastic goal line stance. Good Job!!!!!!

Secondary needs a lot of work. Stupid pass interference penalties.

Good: We don't have to see any more Dakota teams until the playoffs

Bad: No consistent pressure on the QB for the second week in a row...

Bad: TD’s came on a broken pass play, a busted run play and a trick WR end around play, totaling 128 yards. Other than those three plays, our offense generated (wait for it)…177 yards of offense the entire rest of the game, in 56 plays. An average of 3.16 yards per play. UM had ONE “sustained” drive of 11 plays, that ended in a FG.

Ugly: BOTH lines were getting dominated. UND’s offensive line was getting a 3-5 yard push, which made me wonder why they EVER passed…they ran it down our throats in the 2nd half. OUR offensive line was on skates and Ah Yat was running for his life most the time during the inexplicable shift to a pass-happy offense.

Ugly: UM ran 18 offensive plays in the 2nd half. UND ran 47. FORTY SEVEN!!!

Horribly Ugly: UM had a TOTAL of 34 yards of offense in the 2nd half. UND had 241, with scoring drives of 10, 5, 16 and 14 plays. UM’s TOP in 2nd half? 5:23.

One more thing: The EXACT moment that momentum changed was when UND stopped us on 4th & short at the 49 yard line early in the 2nd quarter. We literally did NOTHING after that.

This brings to mind Jim Mora's now famous quote/rant from 2001. See if it fits what we all saw yesterday.

"Well, what happened was...the second half, we just got our asses totally kicked."

"Playoffs? Are you kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game!"

I will sit back, STFU(heavy emphasis on this part)and watch how Bobby deals with this travesty of a game. Atypical for a team eight months post-Frisco. The sky ain't fallin', I just checked.

Bad items:
Harris fielding a kickoff going out of bounds after the two previous kickoffs went out of bounds.
Not getting throws to our highly regarded receivers (White and Fontes). Not sure how they can’t get open.
Fife not staying in bounds on a sure long run in the first half. (Maybe even a TD)

Good: first half but the drive that settled in a FG was when the playcalling bit them, Morrison (last one was a tough one)

Bad: Seconday, Oline pass pro (6 sacks!!) Maybe try moving the pocket instead of letting them pin their ears abck and blow my the ineffective oline in pass protection. Playcalling in second half was some of the worst we have seen, Failure to use a FB/TE to block power runs on short yardage, Harris returning kicks looks like goes 3/4 speed and a dumb return on a ball headed either out of bounds or through endzone. Linebackers minus Wilson were no shows. The QB carousel based on "feel" was a flop to say the least. Tackling....how the hell does Bobby think that they tackled well??? The oline being 8-10 deep according to Bobby might be true....the are 8-10 deep of mediocre

Overall: Looks like a team that would finish maybe 5th in Missouri Valley, and looks like one maybe 4th in BSC. There only hope is get on a roll like last year and somehow beat the Cats which looks like no go unless Tommy is hurt again. Lucky they don't play Idaho and will need a high enough seed to get home games through semis thanks to WaGriz or they wont make it far at all. Bobby has a a lot of tough decisions to make but if they keep on the same path it won't be pretty .

Bad: We didn’t have the ability to protect the QB long enough to try a shot downfield…90% of the passes were 1st read and shorter than 10 yards.
