It was ugly... but got it done

"Your comment just shows how biased you are, how bad of a reader you are, and how bad your memory is." But in recent games, I've seen Vika make some very good tackles, not arm-grabbing.PlayerRep said:Overrated? What is he rated? He was the 2d leading tackler last season, behind Buss. 8 TFLs. 4.5 sacks. An interception. 3 forced fumbles. 1 recovered fumble. A number of pass defense stats. By comparison, Buss had way more TFLs, 1 more sack, and 1 forced fumble. Strahm recovered the fumble against UND, on a nice play. Despite not playing in 2 games this season, and not starting in the next 2, he is tied as the 2d leading tackler on the team now.
Were you one of the posters singing the praises of Vika, and how he was better than Strahm, when Strahm got suspended?
You only cite stats from plays Strahm has made. His criticism comes from the plays he doesn't make. Try to understand the difference, even when it doesn't fit your narrative.
I happen to know that most of what you think are plays not made, were not in fact plays Strahm should have made. Yes, of course, he (and the other backers) have not made every play. My information is generally good on this subject. Yours apparently isn't. You don't know what D is being called and what specific lb responsibility is on each play. You don't know what the lb coach is concluding after watching the tape, and what he is telling the backers. Instead, you are left making up stuff and picking at Strahm for his penalty, which multiple posters have said was not a big deal. You have been the same way with J. Nguyen. Despite not losing a fumble for his last 3 years, which is virtually unheard of for any starter and returner, you still hold onto to your narrative and pick at him.
Ditto :thumb:Jaredkuehn said:A small subplot to add to the good column.
Dareon Nash had a couple nice breakups and tackles in garbage time. That's a RFS that will probably see some significant playing time next season. Its a small sample size to judge him on, but I love to see our younger guys come in and play with fire, even when the game is in the bag.
Only a full ride to lowly DII Montana which is about the best a class B boy could expect back then and got on the field early playing both ways. The only way I could afford school with no silver spoon from the parents. How about you? You weren't an undergrad during the Tet Offensive, were you? Ha. Game changer. 20 credits a quarter of chemistry, physics, calculus and German to get out in the allowed 4.0 years and secure a Defense Dept. grad fellowship for a rare grad deferment in '68. I took the right fork in the road; there became no room for football. So STFU about your glorious career in green; you've bragged about it in detail way too many times. As in this case when it was nothing more than a pivot.PlayerRep said:kemajic said:You might notice that I don't take the initiative to "pick" on either Strahm or the Nguyens. Well, least I got on the field and made all conference on a D-I team. How about you? Ha.

There was only about 10 of us on the south side deck of canyon club. Typicaly there is a 2nd row of people watching over our shoulders. It did seem a little quiet inside also. At least more so than EWU game this year. But i dont think to a level one would notice it.PlayerRep said:Mariner: "Announced attendance was over 25K, but it didn't really look it. Quite a few open seats in the upper east deck."
If you were looking mostly at the middle upper section, tons are those people were inside the Canyon Club, keeping warm (it was windy up there), drinking beer/wine, socializing and watching the game (on about 10 tv screens, which had the tv but also the raw feed, which was about 4 or 5 seconds ahead of the tv). Also, everyone on the decks watching and drinking beer was not in their seats either.
And, in games with bad weather, look in all of the boxes. They are packed. Boxes have 8 tickets/people, and you can buy up to 8 mores. Most of the boxes I could see looked like they had tons of extra people. The box I used to be in, which was a double box with 16 tickets, often had 50 or 60 people in it during games.
Couldn't resist the opportunity to do it once again for all of us, could you? "Too funny." You don't even realize what an insecure ass you are to roll that out again and again and again. A little bit of a challenge is all it takes to set off the defensive spender. I truly have "no class" to set it off. And I laugh.PlayerRep said:I played on a top 20 D-I team. I was selected as one of the 2 best corners to ever play at my school. I played against 5 NFL running backs, including the runner up to the Heisman. My mom put 5 kids through college, and 4 through grad school. A Miles City girl. I was born there.
Mr. Class B, you have no class. A pathetic character, in my view. Either not very smart, or well past your prime.
Sorry, I can tell from your posts that you never got on the field and don't understand the game. And you are a dick. That's why at Griz functions you wonder around by yourself, with no one even willing to talk to you.
Silver spoon. Too funny.

actually, i was thinking the same thing when i read greenie's exchange. apples and oranges though. let's just drop the subject.
J.D. is the best in my book. Envious of the that exchange. As good as hooking up with Dwan Edwards and John Fitzgerald at the Mo Club before the MSU game last year. My best J.D. snapshot was the Reynolds TD late in the 35-3 '08 MSU game when CR ran over a defender in the SEZ and they tried to get frisky with him. Quinn was there in a nanosecond; never saw him move that fast. Ended that deal in a hurry with Ash crying for a flag. I watched his OL play a lot. He didn't have pillow fights, he pancaked dudes. Had quick feet. We were lucky to get him; he made that team in my mind. J.D. Quinn is a subject on which we have had no arguments.PlayerRep said:My apologies, Kem. This is the unfortunate side effect of closing the downtown bars with JD Quinn, which is what we did last night. It was just the 2 of us, but we, especially him, cut a wide swath. He seems to be doing very well. Living in Dallas, but still loves Missoula. Has a UM girlfriend, who is now a lawyer in Dallas. He still keeps in close touch with Brent Russum, Levi Horn and others. Forgot to ask him if he saw any DOLA on the field on Saturday. I did prompt him to tell some people about his enforcement actions in the past. He said no one messed with Bergquist and Reynolds, at least more than once. Said his roommate and friend Bomar, who was drafted in the 5th round, backed up Eli Manning for 5 or so years. So made a few million. Thought getting tossed out of Oklahoma cost Bomar bigtime. Said Adrian Peterson is a very nice person, notwithstanding some of his later issues. Said a lot more, but I'll save that for Brint and maybe Titleist. Titleist and I went to dinner with JD years ago, after he had graduated. I'm sure Titleist still chuckles about some of dinner conversation. We talked about the incident in the Arkansas flood years ago, where I heard and read that he was involved in saving a lot of people. An article was put on egriz at one point. There was more to it than I had thought. While many people were warned and saved by him and his friend, he said a number of people they pulled from the raging river were dead. Said as he and his friend ran to the river to help, other people were running away from the river. I can't think of anyone in the world that I would rather have on my side if I were in a jam, than JD.
