Are you saying that LJ is a stud because he is a 7th year senior and in his first year in Haucks system and is already poised in the back field? Maturity? In a traditional sense, with out redshirting, adding in a COVID year, in one system with the same OC, KB could technically be an a senior and he should be peaking. All I’m saying is there is one hell of a pattern with Kb and his pocket awareness. Timing can be taught but can pocket awareness? I don’t think it matters anyway (unless there’s another transfer), because Britt will probably win the job next year. Who knows, maybe Abbott if he sticks around. Should be fun to watch go down.
The more experience the better. One of Brown's year was the covid year, with little practice and 2 spring games. Johnson is obviously a very experienced qb. Yes, Johnson is poised in the backfield, probably do to experience and working very hard since he arrived in Missoula. Yes, he is mature. Almost no qb can peak without having played more football. The covid year was not a full year, of play or practice. I think pocket awareness is taught/learned too. Playing is one way to learn it.
Fair enough. I just wonder how tight the leash is on the kid. I would assume with every TO it just gets tighter and tighter which doesn’t help his confidence and therefore messes with his timing and his awareness. I’ll give it to him that he battled back yesterday after that turn over and got pretty aggressive. It’s a good problem to have him, Britt, Abbott and Huot in the future. Going to be some great competition moving forward.
