Good:
- another come from behind win and dominant second half to seal another ranked win
- fife continues to play solid and manage the game perfectly well. Scored 3 TDs with his legs and was 16/27 for 199 and another TD with his arm
- Gillman who has a dinged up shoulder continues to run hard and churn yards. Had 76 yds on 14 totes to avg 5.4.
- Ostmo with real similar numbers 15 carries for 74 yds averaging 4.9
- Racanelli getting more and more involved and making big plays. 4 grabs for 65
- White another good game with t grabs for 53
- Bergen had 4 for 46 and 1 TD
- Riley Wilson and Hayden Harris continue to be huge on the defensive side
- thought Ronald Jackson had his best game as a Griz on the defensive side. Big tackles, big plays and knocked the ball loose to seal the victory
- this defense is better overall with Klucewich on the back end. Great to see him back after missing 2 games. I think his presence and play alone improved the defense overall
- Kaschmitter another guy getting more healthy and impacting the game on the defensive side
- defense has their best game vs a good opponent only allowing 306 total yards and 13 points
- NAU defense ranks high high in a bunch of FCS categories so great to see the Griz put up 31 on their D
- the Fontes short pass, hurdling defender, and picking up 1st down to lead us to final TD was awesome

Bad:
- can’t give up 88 yard TD on a fly sweep
- counted at least 5-6 bad snaps but in defense of Klimczak I think he got hurt on the first play and powered through it. It affected his snaps
- hate to give up a scoop and score to the opposing team, can’t be spotting teams those points

Ugly:
- really getting tired of seeing the Griz get down 10-17 points to every team we play. Need to figure out his the heck to get ahead and stay ahead.

Feel free to add…..

Racanelli is emerging into the player I envisioned in fall camp of 23. I absolutely love the way he plays and leads.

Good: quality reps and play from Lawler and my boy, Loud.

Good: half time adjustments were mande and executed
Bad: Knowing in the first half the 3rd string QB for NAU was going to primarliy hand off and not loading the box
Ugly: the hiking of the ball. this needs to be worked on.

Bad- The DJ, what is the reasoning to all the sudden put a DJ in the stands. There is no need for music between every play, it’s a football game, not a club scene. Many times it was played right up if not after the NAU snap, I would think that they complained about it after so many instances. The Griz Band being able to play during the 3rd quarter was much more enjoyable and added greatly to a football atmosphere.
Bad- The Griz defense looking towards the sidelines waiting for the signals and NAU snapping the ball, caught the Griz off guard more than once.

Good- Wa Griz attendance and volume. 17th straight sell out with knowledgeable fans that know when to get loud.
Griz Defensive stops on the goal line turning TD’s into FG’s.
Bad- Not calling a timeout when NAU comes out with a weird offensive set to start the 3rd quarter. You could tell it caught us by surprise. Use a TIMEOUT!
Ugly- giving up a scoop and score to start the game in a 7 point hole.

Ugly, some Griz fans booing when a NAU player went down.

Granted, I get thinking, he did it to stop the clock and to get some energy back.

Regardless of reason, the booing came off bad.
Came off bad on television?

There was two types of injured players in this game. The first was #3 who was playing defense in the end zone and trying to get back to that corner route and ended up landing awkwardly over the offensive player. The stadium was quiet and applauded when he got up and was able to walk off the field.

The next was #44 who waited until right before the snap to go down with an apparent injury to try and slow the offense down when we were going tempo to seal the game. It was very apparent and usually is in the stadium. It essentially gave them a free timeout as their whole team huddled up on their sidelines. They were trying to conserve timeouts for their offense if they got the stop. He also got up perfectly fine. We gave them a different look than expected so they ended up burning a timeout before the ensuing play anyways.

I have no problem with the crowd letting them know it’s a chicken shit move. Especially with the new substitution rules. There’s been several of both types of injuries this year and the die hard fans in the crowd are pretty football savvy at picking out which is which.

The referee was on top of the “cramp” situation. He stopped the clock and immediately signaled to reset the play clock to 40. Both play and game clock would have then started after #44 left the field. The Griz could have run the full 40 off which would have taken it down to about 2:10 left in the game. NAU’s coach did take the timeout to save the 35 seconds or so.

We weren't down 10-17 points to every team we play. Remember back to UND?
We were up 21-7 after the first qtr and 24-7 at the half. And then we fell apart.

I'm proud of this team hanging in there and getting stronger throughout the game. By the 4th qtr our OL was winning the battle of the trenches which was great to see.

The Good:
Damm good offence let by a quality quarterback who gets better with every game
Bad: Listening to Cohen
Ugly: lossing to a shitty Weber team who got their ass handed to them by NC does not bode well for us if we look at that as a judgement of our team moving foward

I think that's the point though, ever since UND we have been playing catchup in way to many games:

WCU
Weber
NAU

We won 2 out of 3 of those games.
Yes I would like to roll over all our opponents from start to finish but often the true measure of a team is how you respond to adversity.
So far, I like how this team has responded.

That didn't even make any sense because it actually hurt them quite a bit to have that happen. He went down with like 15 seconds on the play clock and we got a fresh 40 after that. NAU had to use a timeout because we could have ran that clock down almost a full minute. Overall that cost them a timeout and like 20 seconds on the clock too. No reason to think he was faking that injury.

It’s tough to watch sometimes but I am getting a better feeling about this Griz team. Offense is much better than last year and we have all the tools necessary to score points. Defense has been poor but I saw significant improvement particularly from the young or newer players vs NAU. Understandable it takes some time getting use to a new defense and new coordinators. Special Teams continue to baffle a bit with the untimely penalties and the rugby style run/kicks for 15 net yards. More focus on this phase required. Go Griz!

I'm glad we won the ones we did, but it's not something we can keep up or should encourage.

I would say though not sustainable, it is positive that we have come back to take the lead in all three and multiple times and that the offense has the ability to do it consistently. Wasn’t too long ago that the only way that was happening was a big kickoff return from Flowers or Bergen or a defensive score or turnover in the opponents end of the field.

Good - we won
Bad - two road trips next and no WaGriz to help
Ugly - kitty's win, hope Idaho isn't what I thought they'd be
