Good, Bad, and Ugly - SUU

Good:
- offense putting up over 600 yards with 400+ passing and 200 rushing
- two Griz receivers going over 100 receiving yards (JLM and Homan)
- BG going back to back 400+ passing yards
- 4/4 on red zone scoring (red zone scoring is night and day from last year and Griz are ranking near the top of all of fcs)
- defense holding SUU to under 300 total yards
- rushing game averaging over 6 ypc
- offensive line creating lanes and giving Brady time. Arguably best game I've seen them have in a couple years
- play calling more exciting. The fake fly sweep to JLM and wheel route to Nyugen for a TD was poetry in motion
- pressure on QB. Wow not a ton of sacks but that QB got hit probably 15 times....hard
- the pick by Ryan Johnson was huge. Huge momentum swing too.
- points in and out......the 14 point swing going into half and coming out that first drive was the difference in the game IMO. SUU reeled after that.

Bad:
- inability to wrap up and allow extra yards bc of it
- some dumb penalties (unnecessary pass interference on 3rd and long)
- one rough punt
- could have been flagged for running into the kicker (although it did look like Counts was blocked into him)

Ugly:
- 2 missed PATs
- blocked FG, too much penetration
- the refs sticking strong with a targeting. That was very questionable as he was launching before the QB was in his slide. But he did lead with head so I get it. He will be missed as he is the best transfer we got and that's saying a lot as we got some great ones

Please feel free to add to these. What was good, bad, and ugly in your eyes. Overall I like what I'm seeing a lot. That was a very big win.

What do you mean, "he will be missed" is he suspended for a few games as well?

Sucks but something tells me we'll be okay without him for a half against the mighty MVSU.
You mean the MVSU that hasn’t won a game this year, and won just 5 games over the three seasons before this … and one of those wins was against the fake school “University of Faith-Florida.” Oh, and one of their losses was to a D-II school. Is that the "mighty" opponent you mean?

Still, they only lost by 2 points at Jackson State in their last game. And Jackson State (2-3, 2-1 in conference) is leading the East Division of the SWAC. So you can't just write them off. (And players can still get injured, just like in practice.)

Not writing them off, just saying they're going to be hugely over matched in this game, even without a player like Strong for half of it.

Totally agree. As I said, I worry more about injuries ... which can happen whenever you have football contact. And all you can do is "keep your fingers crossed."
