I'll be in Las Vegas on saturday.

What is the name of the Griz friendly bar there, and / or any other suggestions for possibly watching the So Dakota game? Thanks in advance.

Anyone from Torry Pines posting here? If so then how are you going to get the signal for the game? Are you going to stream it from the internet?

Just go there, they'll have it on. You'll be pleasantly surprised. $50 cab ride from the strip.

Actually the genesis of my question is something entirely different. I've talked to Bob several times before about satellite stuff. I'll just give him a call.

Thanks to all for your help with the name of the Bar, address, name of the gentleman, and phone number.

In light of the $50 cab fare, :o I think I'll call there in advance to make sure the game is shown.
:ugeek:

I talked to Torrey Pines and they said that Bob is actually on his way to Missoula to see the game in person. However, fear not, they seemed to have what they needed to put the game on the big screen and said that they believed they are good to go! I gave them my phone number in case they had any problems tuning the game in. I'm sure it will all be good.

I just made my first (and second) visit to Torrey Pines recently. I had heard all the great Griz stories over the years and had high expectations. It is WAY off the strip ($50 cab fare sounds about right) in a borderline bad neighborhood (we were panhandled right outside the door one time) and in a generic mini strip-mall that hardly screams "Sports Bar". Once inside it was way smaller than I expected. I bet it gets uncomfortably packed for any Griz game or other similar event. The tvs are nothing special either; think Mo Club not Press Box. It is also extremely smoke-filled which can be a shock to Montanans not use to public smoking anymore.

They DO have lots of Griz memoribilia and when talking to workers they do love Montanans visiting and you never have to ask to get the Griz game on, it WILL be on. He said a Griz/NFL weekend is night and day. Polite, fun-loving, generous Griz fans on Saturday, and then rude, demanding, cheap (one drink) New York fans on Sunday watching the Giants. It would be fun to watch a Griz game there. I just never saw anyone point out TP's short-comings, which are many in my book.

Torrey Pines is a neighborhood bar. The things you mention come with the territory.

I've been there for Griz games, and I've been there on a random Tuesday afternoon. Believe me, if you haven't been there for a Griz game, don't negatively judge it. It is a COMPLETELY different place when a Griz game is on.
