Going through this season’s mascots

I rarely start threads, as I prefer derailing them, BUT, I was thinking about the mascots the Grizzlies have taken down this year. Here we go:

-Bulldogs (not a smart breed)
-Trailblazers (could mean anything nowadays)
-Bulldogs (not a smart breed; doesn’t learn)
-Bengals (formidable, but not enough)
-Aggies (cow fondlers)
-Vandals (rural road ruffians)
-Generic Inferior Bears
-Hornets (Probably the biggest threat in swarms)
-Vikings (No threat 1on1)
-Kittycats (joke and drunk)
-Blue Hens (the toughest of all hens)
-Paladins (kind of like a Viking, I guess)
-Bizons (we’ve seen what happens in the wild)

The only ones that beat us were the lumberjacks, and we all know Fisty was illegally clear cutting without regard for wildlife because he can’t stand extra foliage around his “target(s)”.

So, now we have the Jackrabbits. Given what the Grizzlies have taken down this season so far, I’m liking our chances.

2nd time for both teams playing similarly named mascots.

SDSU played the Missouri State Bears.

UM played the NAU LumberJACKS.

Will the Griz get some redemption and finally a win over the JACKS?

Will SDSU go 2-0 against Ursa mascots and send the Griz home with their 2nd loss to a Jacks team?


*cue all the Bear/bunny comics about poop sticking to fur.

If you are under any sort of impression that a jackrabbit even remotely approximates the threat of Fisty the Lumberjack, I’d just say you’ve never seen Fisty the Lumberjack. He’s out for two things: Lumber; and something I can’t mention now that this is a family board.

They can do that mild stuff all they want. I’ll put it to you this way: Fisty the Lumberjack would forego his best friend’s bachelor party in Vegas for a solo weekend trip to Tijuana.

When people say they want to hang with him it reminds me of that Armen Keteyian quote from the Tiger Woods documentary when younger players said they wanted to go toe to toe with prime Tiger on a major Sunday, “The f*ck you do. You have no idea what you’re getting into.”
